World Princess Week: Everything You Need To Know

Disney has announced that World Princess Week will be taking place this year from August 21st to August 27th. This celebration of Disney’s iconic and impactful princesses around the globe will have some exciting celebrations going on in the Disney parks and the resorts. Here is everything you need to know about World Princess Week so that you are ready to celebrate no matter where you are.

New Official Princess

Raya is officially a Disney Princess!

Raya from “Raya and the Last Dragon” is officially a Disney Princess! This was a much quieter announcement than the last princess addition (Princess Merida), as there was no official ceremony. However, it is lovely to add another strong and kind princess to the official lineup.

Raya is the princess of her village in the film, so it makes sense that she would eventually become an official Disney Princess in time as well. Now that she has the official title, maybe it is only a matter of time until Raya makes an appearance in Walt Disney World.

Musical Performance

The fabulous Brandy, who played Cinderella in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” and starred in The Wonderful World of Disney, will be launching World Princess Week off with a bang.

Brandy recorded a special performance of “starting Now”, which is the theme song of the Ultimate Princess Celebration. It was filmed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Resort. The video of Brandy’s performance will be released on Monday, August 22nd.
