Where To Relax During Rainy Days At The Disney Parks

Rainy Day at Magic Kingdom

When visiting the Disney parks it is important for guests to keep in mind that Florida often has some unpredictable weather. It’s true that it can rain frequently in Orlando and at Disney World, but it is also true that these rainy spells typically don’t last too long, and rarely do they ever last the entire day. However, rainy days do occur sometimes during Disney vacations. But luckily the parks are made to accommodate for any kind of weather. There are many areas of the parks that are great for spending time in during rainy days. Keep reading to discover where you should relax during rainy days at the Disney parks.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom has many indoor areas and attractions that guests can take advantage of during rainy days. Our favorite areas include:

Carousel of Progress

This attraction is located entirely indoors and lasts for approximately 21 minutes which gives the rain plenty of time to go away. This attraction is also historic with it being one of the oldest in the park and something that Walt Disney himself personally worked on.

Big Top Souvenirs

This souvenir shop is located in the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland near the Dumbo attraction. This shop is huge and has plenty of items to browse through while you wait for the rain to pass. There’s also a sweets shop located within this store so guests can enjoy some homemade fudge and other goodies while they wait.

Hall of Presidents

If you need somewhere to duck into real quick then the Hall of Presidents is a great option for you. Not only can you experience this attraction which is around 25 minutes long, but you can also relax in the waiting area which has bench seating and is located entirely indoors.

Bijutsu-Kan Gallery in Japan

This indoor gallery is a great place to chill during the rain or during the heat. Guests can browse an exhibit based on Japan’s “kawaii” culture and enjoy bench seating as well.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends

This attraction is more than just a ride. After guests finish the attraction that takes them through Nemo’s world under the sea, guests exit into a large aquarium called Sea Base. This aquarium is one of the largest saltwater aquariums in North America and guests can enjoy seeing dolphins, manatees, sting rays, sea turtles, and so much more. Guests can easily spend an hour or longer just exploring the aquarium.

Walt Disney Presents

This walkthrough attraction allows guests to explore a gallery detailing the history of Walt Disney’s life and work at their own pace. Guests can spend an hour or longer taking in all the details of this attraction.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a park that is primarily featuring outdoor attractions, but guests can still sneak away to some indoor spots for rainy days.

Festival of the Lion King

This Broadway-style show is a great way to kill time during rain or storms. Guests can sing along to their favorite Lion King songs that are performed in a way that they’ve never seen before.

One of Animal Kingdom’s biggest indoor attractions is Conservation Station. Here, guests can learn more about the work that is done with the animals who called Animal Kingdom their home. Guests can watch Cast Members prepare the animal’s food, perform routine medical checkups and even surgeries, experience an animation class, and so much more.
