If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you can use the My Disney Experience app to unlock your room door! This is a great feature that allows you to bypass the front desk and head right to your room. All you need is your room key card and the My Disney Experience app installed on your phone. In this article, we will show you how to unlock your resort room door using the My Disney Experience app!
Instructions For Unlocking Your Room With The My Disney Experience App

If Bluetooth on your mobile device is turned off, turn it on.
iPhone Bluetooth Instructions
Open Settings.
Go to Bluetooth.
Tap the toggle switch to the right of Bluetooth to turn it on.
Android Bluetooth Instructions
Open Settings.
Go to Connections.
Tap the toggle switch to the right of Bluetooth to turn it on.
Download & Open The My Disney Experience App
To get started, you will need to download and open the My Disney Experience app. The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms. If the app asks for permission to use Bluetooth, please allow it to do so.
Installing My Disney Experience On iOS
Click the button below to open the App App Store, and tap the blue “Get” button.
Installing My Disney Experience On Android
Click the button below to open the Google Play Store, and tap the green “Install” button.
Link Your Disney Resort Hotel Reservation To Your Disney Account
To link your Disney Resort hotel reservation in the My Disney Experience app, tap the menu button on the lower right-hand corner of the app. Scroll down until you see the “Resort Hotels” card, and tap on it.
Next, you will need to input the reservation’s confirmation number, as well as the last name associated with your reservation, then hit the “Submit” button at the bottom of the screen.
If you have entered the correct information, your reservation will now be linked to your Disney account, and will be shown in the My Disney Experience app under the Resort Hotel section of the app.
View Your Disney Resort Hotel Reservation
To view your Disney Resort hotel reservation in the My Disney Experience app, tap the menu button on the lower right-hand corner of the app. Scroll down until you see the “Resort Hotels” card, and tap on it.
Now, you can see your reservation page. If you have not yet checked-in you will be missing some features / information, but they will be present once you have checked in.
Select “Unlock Door”
Scroll down until you see the “Unlock Door” button, and tap on that to begin the unlocking process.
Agree to use your device to unlock your door.
Hold Your Mobile Device Against The Door Lock
You now will want to hold your phone close to the door lock.
If at first you don’t succeed, try moving your phone around. Some phones have their NFC antennas in the middle back of the phone, some on the top back, and some on the total top of the phone. Once you have successfully unlocked the door, your phone will display a confirmation screen to let you know you’ve successfully unlocked your room door.
