After much debate as to what would be happening to the newly converted rooms in the Grand Floridian, we now have our answer. Half of the Grand Floridian Resort’s club rooms will be added to the condominium association by Disney Vacation Club. The Big Pine Key rooms are anticipated to open to DVC members in Summer 2022.
There are 202 “phase 2” units that have been built, with 101 being added to the Ground Lease, Declaration of Condoninium and Membership Agreement. The rooms that are included will be most of the third floor, as well as all of the fourth and fifth floors.
These rooms will include both tower rooms and end cap rooms, the diagrams for which can be seen in the filings with Orange County Comptroller. Four of the tower rooms will be located on levels 2-5 and four end cap rooms will be on levels 1-4. There is also a fourth room type that was listed in the filings that will only be located on levels 1 and 2, however there is not much known about this type of room at this time.
Disney created these new rooms with extended families in mind, as 82 of the 101 rooms have connecting doors. Some rooms will have a balcony and some type of a view which will vary from lake, theme park, or standard. The rooms offering a theme park view are sure to be in high demand due to the Grand Floridian’s iconic Magic Kingdom firework views.
If Disney’s Grand Floridian calls to you for your next vacation, remember that those who own at Grand Floridian can book sooner than anyone else for these new rooms.
