Ever wonder what it would be like to be inside the crazy world of Monstropolis? You can join your favorite characters from Monsters, Inc. in a whirlwind adventure called Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. You’ll be sure not to find screams, but lots of laughter for the whole family to enjoy.
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue opened at Disney California Adventure on January 23, 2006, replacing Superstar Limo’s attraction. This attraction is the only dark ride in this park, unlike its neighboring park Disneyland, which has many dark rides. Animatronics and scents are used to make you feel like you’re in the story of Pixar’s beloved Monsters, Inc.
To get your tour of Monstropolis started, you have to board your very own cab. Once your party is loaded inside the vehicle, your journey begins as you head to the Monstropolis Transit Terminal. You’ll find out a familiar character named “Boo” is on the loose, and you have to help Mike and Sulley find her! This message is brought to you by a television screen in your taxi cab. A breaking news clip will show how a human child has escaped in Monstropolis and must be found immediately! You’ll notice a lot of scenes from the famous Monsters Inc. movie throughout this experience.
As you make your tour through Monstropolis, you will see Boo popping up and disappearing from your reach. No need to fret, though! Eventually, Mike and Sulley help you out to bring her safely home before Monster’s Inc.’s villain Randall can make the situation worse. You’ll find yourself in a room of never-ending doors before your adventure comes to an end. Once you bring Boo back to safety, all your monster friends will thank you and welcome you back to the park.

You can find Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! in the heart of Hollywood Land. This attraction is in between The Hyperion Theatre and Mickey’s PhillarMagic. Across the way, you will see a stage that is repurposed for live seasonal performances throughout the year. This attraction has an average wait time of about 20 minutes long.
Queue Experience
The queue for this attraction is partially outdoor and indoor. The outdoor portion of this queue is entirely shaded while you wait for your experience. Once you get inside the Monstropolis Transit Terminal, you’ll find yourself passing some monster office spaces and Monstropilis’s Monster’s favorite things.
