Journey of Water- Inspired by Moana: What To Expect With Children

Journey of Water

One of EPCOT’s newest attractions is located within the World Nature section of the park. Journey of Water-Inspired by Moana is an incredible interactive experience featuring water and all of its possibilities. Journey of Water features information about the water cycle and how nature uses this great resource. When visiting this attraction with children, there are a few things to keep in mind and expect. Here is everything you need to know when experiencing Journey of Water- Inspired by Moana, with children.

Things to Know

Journey of Water- Inspired by Moana is a walkthrough attraction, but because it features water there are a few things you should know. Guests should not use this attraction if they are ill, and strollers are not permitted in this attraction. Be prepared to either carry, or walk with your child as you enjoy the attraction. There is a wet path and a dry path and guests are welcome to choose which path to take. Guests who are using wheelchairs or service animals must take the dry path of the attraction.

Keep Track of Your Children

While this is a walkthrough attraction, in my personal experience it became a bit chaotic with some guests choosing to move through faster than others. There were several instances in which my two children began to move at different paces, so be sure to keep good track of your children as you navigate through the experience.

They May Become Wetter Than You Think

Guests don’t get very wet during the wet path of the attraction, but my children found a way to become soaked! We weren’t expecting to have to towel off after the attraction, so be aware that your kids might become wetter than you think. All of the water interactions involve fairly minimal water, but some guests might indulge in the water effects more than others.

Repeat the Attraction!

Some guests might find that their children became excited and rushed through the attraction, mine certainly did! Luckily, due to the attractions walkthrough nature it is easy to repeat the attraction. In fact, guests who repeat the attraction might find even more to discover that they missed the first time.

Take Photos!

As parents, it’s so fun to watch our kids experience new things. Be sure to snap plenty of pictures and take video of your children enjoying the attraction. There is a great photo opportunity where the attraction overlooks Te Fiti, occasionally a Disney Photopass photographer is onsite to take your photos.  Encourage your children to really stop and indulge in the attraction and read the informational signage about the water cycle throughout. This attraction really embodies EPCOT’s spirit of education through entertainment which is what makes it such a great attraction for all.
