Rope dropping is a great way to experience attractions that have high wait times. The term “rope drop” comes from the days when ropes were used to hold back crowds before the park opened. Nowadays, this term simply means to arrive at the parks as soon as they open. If you’re staying at a Disney resort you can enter the parks 30 minutes before they actually open. Many guests make their way towards big and popular attractions during rope drop, but there are other attractions to rope drop with less stress and crowds. If you have an upcoming visit to EPCOT and want some low stress attractions to rope drop then here are a few of our favorites.
The Seas With Nemo and Friends
One of my favorite attractions of all time to rope drop is The Seas With Nemo and Friends. Located in the World Nature section of the park, this attraction might not seem like a rope drop-worthy attraction to some. The Seas With Nemo and Friends doesn’t typically have a very long line throughout the day, but the big advantage to rope dropping it is exploring Sea Base. Sea Base is EPCOT’s massive aquarium that this attraction exits into. The aquarium can become busy during the day, but when you arrive first thing in the morning it’s practically empty. This gives you a unique opportunity to really take your time and drink in the exhibits. You can take wonderful photos here as well.

Journey of Water- Inspired by Moana
This attraction is also located in the World Nature section of the park and is right next to The Seas With Nemo and Friends. Journey of Water-Inspired by Moana is the perfect attraction to head towards during the early morning hours. This walkthrough attraction allows guests to go at their own pace, but visiting early makes it to where guests can really take their time and explore without feeling rushed forward by the crowd.

Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is the first attraction that guests will come across as they enter EPCOT. This attraction is great for rope drop because it’s right there in the front of the park so guests can hop on and enjoy. Even if many people jump in line for this one you’ll still likely be able to walk on with no wait because of its efficient loading system and high capacity.

Soarin’
Located in The Land pavilion, this attraction is a great option for a low stress rope drop. Soarin’ does tend to gather a large line throughout the day so by visiting first thing in the morning you are securing your spot for this whimsical attraction. Right outside of Soarin’ you can experience the other attractions that The Land has to offer like Living With the Land and have breakfast at Sunshine Seasons.
