There are many different types of Disney vacations that guests take year after year. Some guests prefer lengthy stays, with several days at each park and several days to rest and enjoy their resort. But many guests enjoy short stays at Disney World which can be just as fulfilling and fun as lengthy stays. Guests who are enjoying longer stays at Disney resorts might have a shift in priorities: either they wish to spend more time in the parks and less time at their resort, or they wish to pivot to a more resort-centered vacation with less time at the parks. Either way, here are some of our favorite DVC resorts for long stays.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
This deluxe resort is unique in the sense that it not only has DVC villas and studio rooms, but it also has luxury cabins. Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are perfect for lengthy or extended stays. Guests can have great privacy and wonderful features like full kitchens, washers and dryers, and even private porches with hot tubs. Guests of Copper Creek love the “glamping” aspect that these cabins provide, and since they sleep up to 8 adults they are perfect for those traveling with a lot of family members or friends. Guests of Copper Creek can also access all of the wonderful components of Wilderness Lodge like the pools and restaurants.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Disney’s Old Key West Resort is a resort that feels private and secluded. Guests love Old Key West for its old Florida town charm. Guests will truly feel like they are in a town in the Florida Keys rather than on Disney World property. This resort is great for lengthy stays because the villas are some of the most spacious on property. The Three-bedroom Grand Villa has so much space! Perfect for large families or events like bachelorette parties. Guests also love Olivia’s Cafe, and the many pools scattered throughout the property.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
This resort is great for longer stays because there is so much to do on its property. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a DVC resort that is home to exotic animals that guests can see right from their balcony. If you book a savanna-view room you can see giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and other animals from the comfort of your room. If you book a standard room, don’t worry! There are many observation decks available throughout the resort that give you lovely views.

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort
Although this DVC resort isn’t located on Disney World’s property, we still can’t resist adding it to this list! Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is located on the east coast of Florida, roughly 2 hours drive from Disney World. This beach resort is home to miles of sandy beach, a wonderful pool and splash playground for little kids, and tons of activities. Guests can easily spend up to a week or longer enjoying all this resort has to offer them.
