Disney World is constantly changing and upgrading, and creating attractions and experiences that push the boundaries of innovation. There are many attractions at Disney World that are classics. These attractions have been in place since the park’s opening or for many years. There are also attractions that are newer and have great Disney Imagineering on display with their design and execution. Disney Imagineers design every element of the attraction from the story to the track, and the ride vehicle itself is an integral part of the experience. Sometimes the ride vehicle is the star of the show! Continue reading to learn about some Disney attractions with unique ride vehicles.

Soarin’ at EPCOT

Perhaps one of the most unique ride vehicles in all of Disney World, Soarin’ is a gentle thrill ride that is located within EPCOT’s The Land pavilion. This attraction allows guests taller than 40 inches to experience a hang gliding simulator through the world. Guests will see different world structures and wonders as they sit in a massive hang gliding ride vehicle. The ride vehicle operates on a pulley-like system and guests can be gently moved up and down as they “travel” the world. Soarin’ is unique in the sense that it is a thrilling attraction but still very gentle, making it a great family attraction and perfect for those who don’t like coasters or anything too intense.

Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

One of Animal Kingdom’s newer attractions is within Pandora- The world of Avatar. Avatar Flight of Passage is a thrilling ride during which guests board a “banshee” from the world of Pandora. The ride vehicle is quite unique, and guests rest on their bellies as the banshee comes to life beneath them. Guests will even feel the ride vehicle “breathing” during this attraction. Avatar Flight of Passage is for guests 44 inches or taller.
