The long awaited Avengers Campus in Disney’s California Adventure is set to open on June 4. This newest addition to Disney’s California Adventure will bring the world of Marvel’s Avengers to life in an immersive and exciting adventure.

The new Avengers Campus has taken the place of A Bug’s Land. It was originally slated to open last July, but could not due to California shutdowns stemming from the Coronavirus pandemic. Now that it is ready to open, guests can expect a plethora of new and exciting attractions to explore. Disney has teased some of the attractions that will be available:

  • A Spider-Man attraction featuring webslinger vehicles
  • The Pim Particles Test Kitchen, a new dining location for guests to enjoy
  • A Dr. Strange themed area

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure

Disney released some of the details for the WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure attraction. This ride is to be based off of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, also referred to as WEB. Guests will be given super powers from WEB and will then test out a webslinger vehicle. While guests are in the vehicle, they will need to capture spider bots using their new web slinging super powers.

The pre-existing Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout ride will also be included as part of the Avengers Campus. This ride is a drop tower experience that took the place of Tower of Terror in 2017. This attraction has guests join Rocket in an attempt to rescue the other Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel Character Meet And Greets

In addition to the fun attractions and new dining location guests will also be able to enjoy Marvel character meet and greets. Guests can expect to see Thor, Black Panther, Black Widow, and even occasionally Loki walking around the campus. At first guests will most likely only be able to see characters from a distance, due to health and safety guidelines, but it is sure to be a thrill to see the Avengers in the flesh.

Stuntronics Project

Disney promises that Avengers Campus will be one of the most innovative lands that they have created. Disney has stated that they will be utilizing their previous Stuntronics project with this Marvel land. The Stuntronics project took place back in 2018. At this time Disney created a robot that is able to flip and swing in the air, while appearing like a real person. Avengers Campus will be including one of the Stuntronic robots dressed as our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Ultimate Playground For Marvel

Josh D’Amaro; Chairman of Disney parks, experiences, and products, promises that this new land will be “the ultimate playground for Marvel”, with “stuff that you can’t believe is happening in front of your eyes”.

Disneyland and California Adventure will be reopening on April 30. At the time of its reopening it will be to California residents only and will be operating at only 15% capacity. By the time the Avengers Campus opens, Disneyland may be opened at a higher capacity, allowing for more guests to enjoy this new addition.

To say that everyone is excited for the Avengers Campus to open June 4 is an absolute understatement. Will you try to get to Disneyland in June when they debut this new land? What are you hoping to see included in the Marvel universe? Let us know below!
