A Musical Day At Walt Disney World

Belle in Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

Being at Disney World makes me want to just burst into song sometimes! The Disney song catalogue is instantly recognizable and iconic to say the least. It is almost impossible to walk around the parks without humming along to a song from your childhood, or maybe even a new favorite! Disney World has plenty of Broadway style shows for the inner theatre kid in you and they are must see productions for the whole family. The lights are starting to dim and the orchestra is tuning up, you know what that means. It’s showtime!

Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… And Beyond!

I have to start with the best. Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… And Beyond is an incredible Broadway level retelling of the beloved Pixar movie, compacted into 25 minutes. Just typing this up I’m starting to get misty eyed as this production has the same amount of humor and heart, if not more. It is almost impossible to walk out of this one with dry eyes, for my at least! The story of a fish with a lucky fin named Nemo and his father who travels the ocean to save him is not one you would expect to tranlsate well into a staged musical, but it just works so well! Performers controlling puppets of our favorite fishy friends really bring to life this heartwarming tale.

You will not regret making time for this in your day, especially since Animal Kingdom, even on it’s coldest days is extremely hot, and there’s no better way to beat the heat than Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Get there early, about 30 minutes before showtime for your best shot at great seats! By the catwalk is my personal favorite place to sit, closer I am, the less people in my row can see me wiping away my tears

Festival of the Lion King

If I was asked to describe this show in just one word, I would choose: chills. Now, I’d use that same word to describe the entirety of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but Festival of the Lion King shines brightest of them all. From the second it starts, Festival of the Lion King grips you and does not let go, even after it’s been over. You’ll leave this show in awe of the talent that radiates from this cast of performers. While not a retelling of the movie, Festival of the Lion King follows a band of singers that follows Simba and his friends across the Pridelands as they perform the songs you know by heart.

Aerial performances, acrobatics, FIRE DANCING? This show has it all, and Disney World Guests know it. If this attraction is on your To Do list, and it should be, get there early! The lines for Festival of the Lion King get very long, and you’re going to want to be as close to the action as possible. Who knows, you might even end up being apart of the show! Brush up on your Hand Jive skills before hand, trust me!

Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

Listen, it’s the tale as old as time for a reason. Everybody knows the story of Belle and her Beast, but if you somehow haven’t seen it on stage, you might need to find time for this one on your schedule. Condensed into 30 minutes, this stage show is a retelling of the 1991 animated classic and it’s just as beautiful as you remember it.  Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage has all of your favorite characters and songs, perfect for any fan of the movie! To top it all off? It’s in a covered out door theatre with seating that has back support! If you’ve spent a long summer day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios before, you can probably see the appeal!

Mateo has been in love with the Disney Parks for as long as he can remember. During his childhood he spent any free second talking about Walt Disney World and Disneyland to anybody who would listen. Not much has changed! During his free time you can find him either at Hollywood Studios or trying to convince his friends to go on another trip to Disneyland.
