Disney Attractions That Are Indoor and Outdoor

One of the many reasons why so many guests visit Disney World year-after-year is the fact that it’s home to so many wonderful rides and attractions. Disney World does rides differently than most theme parks. They perfect the story, theme, track, and visual elements that go along with the attraction. Disney attractions tell intricate stories, and the design of the ride itself is also very important. Disney World is well-known for its dark rides, which take place indoors in a dark theater-like setting. However, there are many attractions within Disney World that take place both indoor, and outdoor. This unique attraction layout can be found throughout all of the Disney parks. If you love attractions that have multiple settings then check out these Disney attractions that are both indoor and outdoor.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom

This attraction is located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a fun family roller coaster for guests 38 inches or taller. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is an attraction that takes place mostly outdoors, but guests are taken inside for a special visual treat. During the attraction, just before one of the drops, guests enter a tunnel that takes them into the Seven Dwarfs mine. They hear the iconic song as the dwarfs sing about digging for diamonds, and see audio-animatronics of the dwarfs as well as the shining gemstones and diamonds. This indoor scene really sets this coaster apart from others and makes it a true “Disney” experience.

Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom

This classic Disney attraction is also located at Magic Kingdom within Adventureland. Jungle Cruise was an attraction that Walt Disney designed and worked on himself, originally debuting in Disneyland on opening day. This boat tour through the jungle rivers of the world wouldn’t be complete without its indoor temple scene. The boat travels through an abandoned and worn-down temple. This scene is dark, contains animatronic animals, and eerie music to set the mood.

Test Track at EPCOT

EPCOT’s Test Track is a unique thrill ride. It isn’t quite a roller coaster, but it certainly isn’t gentle or slow! Guests are taken through a series of vehicle tests indoors, and then suddenly they are launched at a wall at high speed. The doors open up and the attraction continues outdoors while reaching a top speed of 65 miles per hour.

Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This roller coaster at Animal Kingdom wouldn’t be complete without its indoor areas! Expedition Everest takes guests on a high speed ride down Mt. Everest. Entering the mountain, guests have a terrifying encounter with the Yeti himself during a dark and scary indoor portion of the attraction. Once guests dodge the Yeti, they once again enter the outdoor portion of the ride as they continue to make their escape.
