What DVC Resort Matches The Vibe Of Your Vacation

Riviera

All Disney vacations have one thing in common: they are pure magic? Other than that, no two Walt Disney World trips are the same! Some people go on honeymoons, family reunions, or the once in a lifetime, first timer trip! There are families with children who’s interests range between going on an adventure with Jack Sparrow and his crew or learning what it likes to be treated like royalty as a Disney Princess! If you want your vacation to have a consistent theme and overall feeling, you need to choose the right DVC resort to wake up in each morning!

Beach Vacation

Say you’re escaping to Orlando, Florida to experience some warmth! There’s quite a few beach/tropical DVC resorts that will make you feel like you’ve traveled to a beach house up north or to a Polynesian island. Just next door at its sister resort is the Beach Club, which features the relaxing Stormalong Bay, a sand bottomed pool. A refreshing dip in the pool to put your toes in the sand is exactly how I like to end a long day at EPCOT. It’s worth noting this pool is under refurbishment until June 2025, but that just means it’ll be in tip top shape for summer vacations!

Maybe you’re looking for something more… South Pacific. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, my all time favorite Disney World hotel, has been open since 1971, and has retained it’s charm since. You’ll feel as if you’re staying in Hawaii as you enter this gorgeous and immersive resort, decorated with palm trees and tiki torches. The newly opened Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows appears to be a stunning addition to an already tranquil environment. Waking up and seeing Cinderella Castle in the distance is a sight you have to see to really appreciate. While we’re on the subject on high end resorts, let’s touch on some of the more elegant DVC resort options!

Elegant Sty

When I go on vacation, I like to pretend I’m a lot more fancy than I actually am. One of my childhood favorites, is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This Victorian style resort pays homage to the golden era of Palm Beach. The high end dining here is some of Disney’s most elegant (which is a nice word for expensive). Popular sit down dining options include Citrico’s and Narcoossee’s, but none come close to the exclusive, Victoria & Alberts’s. You know it’s fancy when your only option is a Chef’s Tasting Menu, no need to ponder what you’ll have for dinner, Chef is deciding for you!

Another personal favorite when it comes to  a classy Walt Disney World Resort is Disney’s Riviera Resort. Inspired by Europe, this hotel offers breathtaking views and a Disney twist on the decor all around you. Riviera has one of the most relaxing pool areas I’ve had the pleasure of swimming in. This is also one of the hotels with a Disney Skyliner station, so be sure to take advantage of that for breezy transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

The resorts I’ve mentioned sound great for adults right, but what about the kiddos? You’re in luck, because everything I have mentioned is great for the kids two. When choosing a DVC resort, you don’t have to sacrifice your desire for ambience to appeal to you younger audiences. From pools with water slides and activities for kids, to Mickey and Friends making occasional appearances in the lobby! No matter where you stay, it’s a great choice for the whole family. There’s no “wrong” pick if you have a son looking for adventure or a daughter wanting to be treated like royalty! At the end of the day as you tuck them in, you’ll know you made the right choice, no matter which DVC resort you stay at!

Mateo has been in love with the Disney Parks for as long as he can remember. During his childhood he spent any free second talking about Walt Disney World and Disneyland to anybody who would listen. Not much has changed! During his free time you can find him either at Hollywood Studios or trying to convince his friends to go on another trip to Disneyland.
