Must-Do’s For Teens At Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A Disney vacation is a great option for families of children of different ages. Guests can find just as much to do for their teenagers and thrill-seekers as they can their toddlers and preschoolers. With such a variety of attractions and things to experience, Disney World is an excellent option for those traveling with teens. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a park that is both educational and fun. Whether you plan on seeing some of the many animals that call Disney home, or experiencing thrill rides and other attractions, here are some must-do’s for teens at Animal Kingdom.

Avatar Flight of Passage

This attraction allows guests to experience the world of Avatar like never before. Located in Pandora, guests board a ride vehicle simulating a Banshee and take flight during this immersive and thrilling experience. Avatar Flight of Passage is for guests 44 inches or taller. Guests are seated in a prone position as they fly their banshee through waterfalls, forests, and throughout Pandora. This attraction is popular for its realism, immersive enviroment, and thrill.

Expedition Everest

One of Animal Kingdom’s most popular attractions is Expedition Everest. This roller coaster is for those 44 inches or taller and is one of Disney’s more intense coasters. During this attraction, guests embark on the daring journey to the top of Mt. Everest as they avoid encountering the mythical yeti. Guests will encounter many surprises during this attraction including a backwards drop and a frightening Yeti monster. Reaching a top speed of 50 miles per hour, this attraction is not for the faint of heart!

Kilimanjaro Safaris

If your teen is an animal lover then Kilimanjaro Safaris is definitely a must-do attraction for your next vacation. This attraction allows guests to experience an African safari in the middle of Florida. Free-roaming animals of many species make for an authentic experience. Guests can expect to see giraffes, elephants, antelopes, hippos, zebras, lions, and so much more. Animals are unpredictable, so you never know what unique experience you’ll receive. This attraction is an educational experience for your teen as well, as each ride vehicle is guided by a Cast Member who recites facts about the animals you see.

DINOSAUR

Experience this attraction with your teen before it closes! DINOSAUR is a thrill ride for guests 40 inches or taller. Guests board a time rover vehicle that transports them back to the time of the dinosaurs. Experience the thrill and terror of being just seconds away from the meteor that struck the dinosaurs and ended their time on earth! This attraction is scheduled to close sometime late next year to make way for a new Indiana Jones attraction.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch

Rafiki’s Planet Watch is a great experience for teens and the entire family. This attraction is accessible by train, and is home to Affection Section and Conservation Station. Affection Section is a petting zoo featuring goats, cows, pigs, and other lovable creatures. Conservation Station offers guests a glimpse into how Animal Kingdom cares for its animals, with feeding demonstrations and views into the Veterinary care center.
