Review of Magic Kingdom’s Royal Portrait Studio

My family and I recently vacationed at Disney World in May of 2024, and during our visit to Magic Kingdom we knew we had to stop at the Royal Portrait Studio! The Royal Portrait Studio is located inside the Sir Mickey’s in Fantasyland. Located near the castle, Sir Mickey’s sells all things princess and royalty! The Royal Portrait Studio is located here for anyone who wishes to take the perfect princess portraits. We visited Magic Kingdom with our 3 year old and our 4 year old who were dressed as their favorite princesses. Because we purchased the Memory Maker photo package, we knew that we just had to stop here for some photos.

The Studio

The Royal Portrait Studio is where guests who booked with Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique often take their photos, but anyone is welcome to take photos here and it is not limited to guests of the boutique! When we arrived, there were guests taking photos in the studio but it was a short wait until it was our turn. The studio was divided into two sections with a Disney Photopass Photographer in each section in order to allow more guest capacity. The backdrop for both sections was the same, a royal balcony overlooking a beautiful forest.

The Photographer

Our Disney Photopass Photographer was so kind and knew exactly how to get smiles out of our girls! She carefully and thoughtfully posed them in the perfect princess way. Our girls felt comfortable taking directions from her and she was able to get great shots. She asked us if we wanted anything in particular but we told her to do whatever she liked. She took photos of the kids together and then asked if we wanted photos of them separately. We told her we did and so she took some great individual shots.

The Photos

We were so happy with the princess portraits and they ended up being our favorite pictures of the entire day. We got great pictures of our girls together, and some great photos of them alone as well. Our 4 year old was dressed as Cinderella so the photographer handed her a glass slipper prop to pose with. She had the girls twirl, curtsy, hold their dresses, and clasp their hands near their face. We got some very cute shots!

Overall Experience

Our experience at Magic Kingdom’s Royal Portrait Studio was great. The entire experience took around 20 minutes, but we felt as if we could have taken more photos if we wanted to. The Disney Photopass Photographer was kind and knew exactly what she was doing. We were able to download our photos from the My Disney Experience app, and all were included because of the Memory Maker package we had purchased in advance. We are so glad that we took a few minutes out of our Disney day in order to grab these pictures. Several have already been printed and we have sweet photos of our girls that will last a lifetime. We highly recommend this experience to all families with children!
