Dining Overview
The Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks is the perfect little pit stop right in the middle of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is a great place to grab a quick snack, drink, or adult beverage without having to wait too long. This location has three different lines. One for snacks and most non alcoholic drinks, and then two for adult beverages. With so many lines, and the fact that this is not as popular of a stop for people, you can be in and out with your purchases in no time.
The Thirsty River Bar & Trek Snacks is conveniently located right next to Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, as well as across from the seating along Discovery River. So although there is no seating for this quick service dining location, guests can easily access a large seating area there. After you finish your rest in the amphitheater seating, you are also a short walk away from Theater in the Wild where you can enjoy the newest show “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond” or if you go the opposite direction you will find Kali River Rapids.
The snack items are mostly prepackaged items meaning there is low chance of cross contamination of the snack items, but also no customization here. Also, with the large menu for drinks, guests should be able to find something that suits their dietary needs and tastes. Although the bar side is obviously geared for adults, it is easy to hop over into the snack line as well to find something the whole family will enjoy snacking on.
This dining location definitely focuses on the adults and the frozen drinks and ice cold beer are definite favorites at this location. All of the specialty cocktails are fruit based, making them a great addition to your day in the tropical paradise that is Florida.
