Disney Plus Winter

Ah the winter season… Peppermint mocha, gingerbread cookies, barren trees, chilly weather! Wintertime is the perfect season for many individuals. However, if visiting Disney World during the holidays is a hindrance for you, I have the perfect solution to bring the Disney magic to your home!

To be in the cozy, winter spirit, I have collected five films to watch on Disney + that will give you all the “warming up by a fire” feels for this snowy season. Let’s get started!

1. Frozen (2013)

Embark on a cold journey with Anna, Elsa, and friends, as they discover friendship, adventure, and sisterly love in this Disney film. While Frozen is considered one of the newer Disney movies, it is a perfect watch for this season. The film is full of snowy scenes, heart-warming songs, and is comforting to watch wrapped up in a soft blanket.

2. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2005)

Four siblings from London experience the journey of a lifetime as they find a wardrobe that transports them to the magical land of Narnia. This film is visually aesthetic, with many warm scenes as well as white, snowy landscapes. The producers of the film did a great job encompassing the icy spirit of Narnia, which makes for a perfect movie night in the wintertime.

3. Lady and the Tramp (1955)

Lady and the Tramp is an adorable classic to watch for dog lovers and those looking for a comforting winter flick. Not only is the film wholesome in its entirety, but it has many scenes dedicated to the snowy New England town where Lady and her friends reside.  The blue, brown and dark hues presented throughout the film’s cinematography are sure to give chilly vibes. This film will leave you falling in love with the innocence of these fur babies.

4. Anastasia (1997)

Set in the harsh winter of 20th century Russia, this film allows the viewer to feel the cold straight through the tv; the protagonist, Anastasia, takes a quest in jarring weather that solidifies her fate as the lost Romanov princess. The film is full of windy clips and blizzards, embracing the true nature of December in Russia. However, the movie has many soothing moments that embrace the warmth and sweetness of winter months.

5. 101 Dalmatians (1961)

Another movie based on puppies and dogs, 101 Dalmatians is a quintessential flick for Disney fans (I mean, how cute are those Dalmatians?!). Set in London in the 1950’s, this charming film is sure to put you in the winter spirit. Puppies running in the snow, cuddles by a warm fire, snug clothing, these are some of the scenes found in this motion picture that encompass the comfort of frosty weather.

These engaging films are not the only ones fit for a cozy night-in from the cold weather. There are plenty of flicks on Disney+ that elicit the same feelings; however, these are a great start for your list. Therefore, dear reader, I hope you enjoy this Winter season; go on, have a sip of hot cocoa by a fire, covered in a warm blanket, as you watch these family-friendly movies in the comfort of your home.
