What Happens When Your DVC Contract Expires?

when do dvc contracts expire?

Of course this is something we DVC owners never want to think about; the expiration of our DVC contracts. While this day is thankfully a long way away, it’s prudent to understand what will happen when your DVC contract expires.

When Will Your Contract Expire?

When each DVC Resort was built, Disney determined the year DVC contracts at that resort would expire. This date was generally 50 years from the construction date. There is, however, one exception to this rule, Old Key West.

In 2007, Disney offered Old Key West owners the option to extend their contracts. Original contracts expire in 2042, but owners who opted to pay for the extension received an extra 15 years added to their contract. Extended contracts at Old Key West expire in 2057.

DVC Contract Expiration Dates are as follows:

Resort

Expires

Animal Kingdom 2057
Aulani 2062
Bay Lake Tower 2060
Beach Club Villas 2042
Boardwalk 2042
Boulder Ridge 2042
Copper Creek 2067
Grand Californian 2060
Grand Floridian 2064
Hilton Head Island 2042
Old Key West 2042 or 2057 for extended contracts
Polynesian Villas 2066
Riviera 2070
Saratoga Springs 2054
Vero Beach 2042

What Exact Day Will My Contract Expire?

This is a very important question to ask. All DVC contracts will expire on January 31st of their respective expiration year. This means that any points you have must be used by January 31st of your expiration year. Points, benefits and usage will not extend past January 31st.
