There are several options throughout Animal Kingdom, whether you are planning for quick-service or sit-down restaurants. During your planning research you might come across some familiar suggestions like Satu’li Canteen or Yak & Yeti Restaurant, but what about the restaurants are suggested less-frequently? If you are interested in restaurants are typically overlooked then check out these great underrated restaurants at Animal Kingdom.

Rainforest Cafe at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Rainforest Cafe is a fun and immersive dining experience located within Disney’s Animal Kingdom. When guests step into the dining room they are immediately transported to a tropical jungle enviroment in the Amazon complete with audio-animatronic animals. Kids will love the immersive theming while adults love the large menu, extensive drinks menu, and decadent desserts. Guests can expect to find American-style entrees like sandwiches and burgers, pastas, and steak as well as other flavors like Korean Spicy Stir-Fry Chicken and Caribbean Coconut-Fried Shrimp. For dessert guests will love the Sparkling Volcano For Four consisting of a brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate and caramel sauce. Guests can also enjoy themed cocktails like the Blue Nile and Tropical Getaway, served in souvenir glasses.

Tusker House Restaurant

Did you know that Animal Kingdom is home to an incredible character dining buffet? Tusker House Restaurant is located in the park’s Africa section and is home to some incredible African-inspired cuisine, as well as Donald Duck and his friends. Typically, guests will see Donald, Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy while they dine but character schedules may vary. While guests enjoy their personal interactions with their favorite characters they are able to help themselves to an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet that is overflowing with African flavors. A variety of breads and dips begin the buffet as well as fresh salads. Tandoori Chicken, Berbere-marinated Pork, Green Curry Shrimp, Chicken Curry, Za’tar Braised Beef, and Chermoula Salmon Filets are just some of the incredible foods you can experience at Tusker House. This restaurant is great for those who wish to experience character dining but wish for a unique menu. Tusker House is a character buffet that should not be skipped.

Pizzafari

If you have kids or picky eaters in your family then Pizzafari is a great choice for your vacation. This quick-service restaurant offers a colorful dining space and a simple yet delicious menu of pizza and other American-style Italian favorites. Guests can enjoy cheese or pepperoni pizza as well as chicken parmesan sandwiches and Gnocchi Primavera. Several sides are available as well including garlic bread, antipasto salad, and Caesar Salad. This laid-back restaurant is a great option that typically goes overlooked!

Restaurantosaurus

Another quick-service dining option that too many guests skip over is Restaurantosaurus. This restaurant serves classic American food in a setting that resembles a paleontology dig-site. Guests can enjoy cheeseburgers, foot-long chili cheese dogs, fried chicken sandwiches, salads, and chicken breast nuggets. Don’t forget your side of fries and S’moresosaurus Shake for dessert! This quick-service restaurant has a great atmosphere and great food for kids or picky eaters.
