We recently reported that Magic Kingdom’s newest rollercoaster attraction, TRON: Lightcycle / Run would be debuting to the general public on April 4th, 2023, but we are now receiving reports that there will be a “soft opening” of the attraction even before it’s official debut date.
Soft Opening Dates
Between the dates of March 20th and April 2nd, guests could have a chance to ride this new attraction, which in the past have been referred to as “technical rehearsals”, and have historically operated at intermittent intervals of time.
This news comes as quite a surprise, but we’re glad those who have their spring break Disney trips already booked and upcoming, may get a shot at experiencing this completely unique attraction. As an annual passholder, I’ve been able to preview the attraction, and it’s an extremely exhilarating ride! While you may think this is just another rollercoaster, I can assure you, this is definitely unlike any attraction Disney has ever created before, and not one to miss out on experiencing!
Virtual Queue
When this attraction is open to the public, it will be utilizing a Virtual Queue similar to the ones we saw in place for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
If you’d like to learn everything there is to know about joining the virtual queue, including what times of the day you can join and some top tips on securing a boarding group, you can read our exhaustive article here: How To Join The Virtual Queue For TRON Lightcycle / Run.
