opening this summer - Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Resort is set to launch a new attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, this summer. This much-anticipated adventure is inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “The Princess and the Frog” and takes guests on a magical journey through the heart of New Orleans, home to Princess Tiana and her dreams.

The attraction promises a rich, immersive experience that delves deeper into Princess Tiana’s story after the events of the film. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Mardi Gras, guests will embark on an enchanting journey filled with music, Mama Odie’s magic, and a host of new friends.

Music and Merriment in the Bayou

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

New Orleans’ musical heritage forms the pulse of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. As guests navigate the bayou, they will be serenaded by adorable critters, who sing and play instruments made from natural materials found in the bayou. These include an otter, a rabbit, a racoon, a beaver, a turtle, and more. Their spirited performances will infuse the bayou with zydeco and other types of music authentic to the New Orleans region.

The musical experience is further enhanced by original songs, created in collaboration with award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard, alongside favorite tunes from the film. Moreover, talent voices from the movie, including Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen, Jenifer Lewis as Mama Odie, Michael Leon Wooley as Louis and Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana, return to reprise their roles.

The new attraction will feature familiar faces from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “The Princess and the Frog.”

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not just a feast for the ears but also for the eyes. As guests float through the cypress trees and Spanish moss of a beautiful Louisiana bayou, they will encounter dozens of new Audio-Animatronics figures, including Princess Tiana, Louis, Mama Odie, Eudora, Charlotte, Prince Ralphie, Prince Naveen, and others.

The attraction is also a celebration of authentic New Orleans artistry. Artwork from Louisiana artist Malaika Favorite will enhance the queue, along with an original metalwork weathervane from third-generation master blacksmith, Darryl Reeves and his apprentice, Karina Roca. New Orleans artist Sharika Mahdi’s artwork has been a source of inspiration from the start. Plus, guests will be treated to the sweet scent of frying beignets, reminiscent of strolling through the French Quarter.

Embarking on a Dream

At its core, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure encapsulates Princess Tiana’s message that everyone has the potential to make their dreams come true. This new attraction, the result of a collaboration between Imagineers, Disney Animation artists, Cast Members, and Louisiana artisans, is set to delight guests when it opens at  Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort in summer 2024 and later in 2024 at Disneyland Park in California.

A New Chapter in the Magic Kingdom Story

With the arrival of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort continues its tradition of creating magical experiences that inspire and delight. This new attraction promises to be a highlight of the summer, offering a unique blend of music, magic, and storytelling that brings the charm and spirit of New Orleans to life.
