When researching your Disney vacation, you might have realized that there are many niche “insider” tips and tricks. Because so many guests frequently travel to Disney World year after year, a bit of a fandom has developed when it comes to Disney vacations. Throughout the parks there are many instances of “if you know you know” that repeat visitors love to share with new guests. Some of these things might be a bit unexpected and unusual to the Disney newcomer. During your visit to Disney World you should keep an eye out for things that have their own fandom.

Trash Cans

Are people really obsessed with Disney trash cans? Actually, yes! Guests’ obsession with the Disney trash cans even led to merchandise featuring the cans. Keychains, candy containers, and even salt & pepper shakers are all official Disney merchandise featuring their iconic trash cans. Why do guests love them so much? The answer lies within the love of Disney Imagineering and attention to detail. The trash cans on Main Street U.S.A. are designed to fit in with the aesthetic of the area, and other trash cans throughout Magic Kingdom follow suit. Guests also love that they will never find an overflowing or dirty trash can anywhere at Disney World as each can is cleaned and emptied frequently throughout the day. Essentially, the love for Disney trash cans is an extension of the love for Disney’s dedication to theming as well as cleanliness.

Popcorn Buckets

Disney popcorn is a popular snack item, but its popularity extends beyond the popcorn itself. Disney souvenir popcorn buckets have become increasingly popular in recent years, with Disney releasing limited edition and seasonal buckets throughout the year. Guests love collecting these buckets and even using them for decorations in their own home.

Disney Transportation

At Disney, everything is an experience. Even the transportation taking you from your resort to the parks is popular among repeat guests. Guests love the clean Disney buses and the music that plays, which changes depending on what your destination is. The monorail is well-loved thanks to its iconic voiceover asking guests to remain clear of the doors, and the Skyliner’s calming sound effects have become classic.

Disney Stickers

Sometimes a little extra magic comes in the form of a sticker. Cast Members will occasionally hand out stickers to guests and their designs have become completely iconic. The classic Mickey sticker design that Cast Members occasionally carry hasn’t changed in decades. This sticker design has been living in the hearts of many guests, as they remember getting the exact same sticker when they were children. Some people like to collect Disney stickers, and for others their vacation is not complete until they’ve received one.
