Disney Vacation Club has recently filed new documents revealing intriguing details about this project. From their pet-friendly policies to resale restrictions, let’s dive into what this promising addition to the Walt Disney World Resort has in store.

Resale Restrictions & Contract Length

Much like other Disney Vacation Club properties, the Ft Wilderness Cabins will come with certain resale limitations. Contracts for The Cabins at Fort Wilderness acquired through the resale market will only be applicable for stays at these Cabins. Furthermore, resale contracts that were purchased after January 19th, 2019, at any resort will not be eligible for booking the Ft Wilderness Cabins.

The ground lease for these Cabins is on track to lapse on January 31st, 2075, resulting in a contract term of nearly 50 years from its anticipated opening in mid-2024.

Embracing the Pet Lovers

In a first, the Ft Wilderness Cabins are set to become a pet-friendly Disney Vacation Club destination. Guests can bring along a maximum of two dogs per cabin, with no specified weight cap. Dogs, however, need to be fully trained and are forbidden from climbing onto furniture across the Resort Property.

When outdoors, dogs must always be accompanied and either restrained with a leash or within a carrier. They cannot access food and beverage areas, lounges, pools, and other recreational zones.

Dogs should not be left unattended for more than seven hours. Guests traveling with dogs must coordinate with housekeeping to fix a room cleaning schedule during the absence of their pets. It will be mandatory to hang door signs on cabins where dogs are staying.

Pet Fees For The Cabins at Fort Wilderness

Dog owners will be charged a fee of $30 per night, while ‘lessees, guests, invitees, licensees and exchangers’ will incur a cost of $50 per night. While DVC can revise these fees in the future, it’s important to note that the provision to bring dogs onto the property isn’t assured perpetually. Therefore, purchasing a Vacation Ownership Interest should not be based solely on the expectation of always being able to bring dogs to the cabins.

Introduction of the Disney Vacation Club Trust Product

The newly filed documents for the Ft Wilderness Cabins hint at the rumored Disney Vacation Club Trust product. While the specifics of the Trust, including the included resorts, booking periods, and room availability remain under wraps, it seems to be nearing its launch. First announced in December, the Trust product has been creating waves of anticipation among Disney Vacation Club members.

Wrapping Up

The Ft Wilderness Cabins at Walt Disney World promise to offer a distinctive holiday experience for Disney Vacation Club members. With their pet-friendly facilities and resale restrictions, these cabins mark a thrilling expansion to the Disney Vacation Club offerings. As more information about the Trust product and other facets of the Cabins come to light, Disney aficionados can start envisioning their future stays at this captivating resort.
