Ideas For Spending Christmas Day At Disney World

Christmas at Magic Kingdom

The most wonderful time of the year at the most magical place on Earth! Disney World at Christmas is an experience that many cherish for a lifetime. Many guests choose to plan their vacations during the month of December around holiday breaks from school, with most choosing to return home for the actual holidays themselves. However, Disney World is open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and guests are welcome to book their stay during the holiday. There are many ways to spend Christmas Day at Disney World whether you choose to visit a park or have a more low key day back at the resort. Here are some of our favorite ideas on spending Christmas Day at Disney.

Christmas Morning Surprise

If you are spending Christmas day at Disney with your children then a Christmas morning surprise is the perfect way to start your day. Most guests aren’t traveling with all of their Christmas gifts, but a quick stop into a resort gift shop the night before to grab something from Santa can be a fun preview of the Christmas to come when you return home. Even your older children might enjoy experiencing the magic of Santa once again!

Christmas Day at the Parks

Guests visiting during Christmas time should be aware that Christmas day is one of the busiest park days of the year. Even though Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party isn’t offered on Christmas day, Magic Kingdom has been known to hit capacity. Lines can get quite long, and some guests might feel a bit overwhelmed dealing with the crowds. If you plan on spending Christmas day in the parks then try to arrive as soon as they open to ensure you are able to get in.

Make any dining reservations as soon as you are able to, take advantage of mobile ordering for quick-service restaurants, and purchase Lightning Lane Multi-pass in order to enjoy your day to the fullest. Magic Kingdom will run its Christmas parade on Christmas Day; this parade typically only runs on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party days so this is a great opportunity to see it with just basic park admission. Don’t forget to purchase Memory Maker so you can have holiday pictures of your family.

Christmas Day at Your Resort

A magical Disney breakfast of Mickey waffles from your resort’s quick-service restaurant is a great treat for Christmas morning. Take them to-go and enjoy them in bed as you watch Christmas movies playing on tv and sip coffee. A slow Christmas morning at the resort is a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of the parks. Christmas day is a great opportunity to enjoy all that your resort has to offer. Take a Christmas swim, visit the Community Hall, enjoy a sit-down meal, hop to other resorts via Monorail or Skyliner, and take relaxing walks throughout the property. Taking it slow on Christmas day is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.
