How To Spend Your Downtime On Your Disney Beach Vacation – Hilton Head Island

Did you know that there is a Disney resort located on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina? Not many guests realize that they are able to take a Disney beach vacation. A 5 hour drive from Disney World in Florida, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is a beach getaway that allows all families to relax and unwind. With access to an exclusive beach house, pools, and endless activities, guests can find several things to do during the downtime of their vacation. If you have booked a trip to Disney’s Hilton Head Island or are considering taking one then continue reading for some ideas on how to spend your downtime on your Disney beach vacation.

Disney’s Beach House and Pools

Guests of Disney’s Hilton Head Island have access to Disney’s exclusive beach house located on the sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean. This beach house is about a mile away from the resort. Guests can bike here or ride a complimentary shuttle. Once they arrive at the beach house they have a retreat from the hot beach with air conditioning, towels, indoor games, television sets, and a fireplace. There is a heated pool located nearby so guests can take a saltwater break.

There are also two heated pools located nearby the resort rooms. Guests can splash in the Big Dipper Pool with its twisting waterslide, while small swimmers splash in the Little Dipper Pool nearby.

Tours and Nature Walks

Guests who are interested in nature and excursions are happy to find out that Disney offers a Dolphin and Nature Discovery Cruise. Guests of all ages can enjoy this 1.5 hour cruise to see dolphins and wildlife. This cruise is currently priced at 45 dollars per person and interested guests should call to book their cruise.

Several guided nature walks are available for guests to enjoy as well. Walks around the beach, the resort, and even through the Pickney Island Wildlife Refuge nearby are available for booking. Interested guests should call for more information on these programs. Special nature programs for children 3 and up are also available at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort.

Community Hall and Rentals

Like many DVC resorts, Disney’s Hilton Head Island is home to a Community Hall where guests can congregate for crafts, activities, DVD rentals, and more. Interested guests can check the front desk for the weekly schedule of activities. Typically, Community Halls have a selection of free crafts and activities for guests of all ages to enjoy.
