Traveling to Disney World with children of any age can be a magical and fun experience for all family members. Your children don’t have to be little in order to get in on the Disney magic. In fact, traveling to Disney World with older kids and teenagers can be even more magical in its own way. Disney vacations with your teens can be a great bonding experience for families and the perfect time to reconnect with the inner-child that still lives within your teenager. If you are traveling to Disney World with your teenager then continue reading for some ideas on how to add extra magic to your vacation.
Take A Tour
There are many Enchanting Extras to indulge in with your teenagers that will enhance the magic and keep them engaged during the vacation. Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom tour is for guests 16 years of age or older and will take you to very exclusive backstage areas. This tour will have you seeing Disney World like never before, and will take you down into the Utilidor tunnels and other backstage areas.
At Animal Kingdom, guests older than 4 years of age can enjoy the Caring for Giants tour which explores Animal Kingdom’s elephant herd. This tour gives you an up-close look at the elephants who live at Animal Kingdom and guests can speak to experts in the field and learn all about these amazing creatures and what it takes to care for them.

Behind the Seeds at EPCOT is another popular tour option. This tour takes guests older than 3 years of age on a journey through EPCOT’s working greenhouse and fish farm that you see during the Living With the Land attraction. This tour gives guests an in-depth look into the agriculture at EPCOT and is great for teenagers who enjoy the attraction.
Character Dining
You might think that your teenager is too old for character dining experiences, but some parents are surprised by their teenager’s reaction when they book a character meal! Character meals are a great way to get your teenager back in connection with their inner-child, and for the entire family to cut loose and just have fun. For teenager character dining experiences we like to recommend Crystal Palace because the Winnie the Pooh characters are common childhood favorites, and it can be so fun watching your teenager enjoy something that they used to love as a kid.

Experience After Hours Events
One great perk to having teenagers is that they already stay up late, so you can enjoy Disney After Hours events! These special ticketed events take place after the park closes and run until 1am. They give guests the perfect opportunity to ride everything they want with fewer wait times. Complimentary ice cream and drinks are even included with price of admission! Disney After Hours events are currently running at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Typhoon Lagoon. Dates will vary for this experience so be on the lookout!
