Exploring Animation Courtyard – Disney’s Hollywood Studios



Disney’s Hollywood Studios is well-known for its intricately themed lands like Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. However, there is so much more to this park than that! Hollywood Studios is also a park that celebrates the love of movies, old Hollywood, and animation. As guests make their way through the park they will come across Animation Courtyard. This area of the park contains much to see and do, and has been entertaining guests since the park’s opening in 1989. Continue reading as we explore Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios!

Attractions

Disney Jr. Play and Dance!-Do you have Disney Jr. fans in your family? Or perhaps you are just in the mood to dance? Disney Jr. Play and Dance! at Animation Courtyard is the perfect attraction for pumping you up and getting your groove on. This dance party is joined by Mickey, Doc Mcstuffins, Vampirina, and other Disney Jr. pals. The show lasts approximately 10 minutes and runs periodically throughout the day. If you have a little one who loves to move, don’t skip this attraction!

Walt Disney Presents– This walkthrough attraction features incredible artifacts from the life of Walt Disney, and from the early days of Disney studios. Those who are interested in animation or history will adore this attraction. Walt Disney Presents takes guests through the incredible life of Walt Disney. This attraction is also home to an Ariel meet and greet where guests can meet Ariel as she appears in the live-action film. At the end of this attraction, guests can enjoy the short film: One Man’s Dream. This film tells the story of Walt Disney and his success through his own words. Guest will leave this attraction inspired and ready to create their own magic.

Star Wars Launch Bay– You don’t have to walk over to Galaxy’s Edge for this Star Wars experience. Star Wars Launch Bay is a walkthrough exhibit featuring props from the films, concept art, and even a recreation of the famous cantina. Guests can view models of ships, as well as costumes from the films. Guests will also find character meet and greets of BB-8, Darth Vader, and Chewbacca. You might even find Stormtroopers here as well.  This attraction also exits to a gift shop selling artwork and Star Wars merchandise that you can’t find anywhere else! Guests can have custom Star Wars phone cases made, and purchase art like sculptures, prints, or prop replicas.

Dining

There are currently no quick-service or sit-down restaurants in this area, however guests can find a snack stand serving ice cream, popcorn, and bottled beverages near the entrance of the courtyard.
