Soarin’ Over California, the iconic first version of the Soarin’ attraction, is set to bid its final goodbye at EPCOT. This immersive ride, which has been a favorite among visitors, will be replaced by its global counterpart, Soarin’ Around the World, starting on February 28, 2024.
A Journey Through Time with Soarin’
Soarin’ Over California first graced Disney Parks with its presence in 2001, starting at Disney California Adventure. In 2005, it made its way to EPCOT, replacing the Food Rocks attraction in The Land Pavilion. It was rebranded as Soarin’ Around the World in 2016, featuring international destinations for attendees to virtually explore.
However, the love for the original version remained strong, leading to its return to Disney California Adventure for several limited-time runs. Interestingly, it’s introduction to celebrate the 100th year anniversary celebrations was the first time it has made a comeback at Walt Disney World.
Soarin’ Over California’s Limited Run During the Disney100 Celebrations
During the Disney100 celebration at Walt Disney World, Soarin’ Over California returned for a limited period. As part of the celebration, a special Disney100 medallion was added to the Soarin’ sign. Though the anniversary celebrations ended on December 31, elements like Soarin’ Over California and other Disney100 features remained at EPCOT.
The Final Day for Soarin’ Over California
According to the official Walt Disney World website, the last day to experience Soarin’ Over California will be February 27, 2024. From the next day, Soarin’ Around the World will make its grand return, promising a new set of adventures for the visitors.

Fans of Soarin’ Over California now have a limited time to enjoy the ride before it bids its final farewell. The future promises a return to the traditional Soarin’ Around the World programming.
