Are you a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member or considering a rental for your next vacation? Securing the perfect room can significantly enhance your Disney experience. In this article, we’ll guide you through the various methods to make DVC room requests and provide expert tips on which requests are most likely to elevate your magical getaway.
How To Make DVC Room Requests
There are several ways to make room requests at Disney Vacation Club resorts. Here’s a closer look at each:
- Call Member Services: One of the most straightforward ways is directly through DVC’s Member Services by calling (800) 800-9800 or using the chat function on the member’s only website. Their experienced representatives can assist you in making your room request over the phone.
- Call or Chat with Disney: You can also reach out to Disney directly, which can be a useful tool for renters that already have their reservation associated with their Disney account on the My Disney Experience app. Whether you prefer a phone call or a chat through My Disney Experience, Disney’s friendly cast members can help you with your room request.
- Fax: Surprisingly, faxing is still an accepted method for making room requests at Disney Vacation Club resorts. Just ensure to clearly state your preferences in your fax message. The resort’s fax number can be found by expanding the following section:
- Email: If you’re more comfortable with digital communication, sending an email with your room request is another option. Make sure to include all necessary details such as your reservation number, resort, check-in date, and specific room requests.
- Drop Down Menus at Check-in: During the online check-in process, you’ll find drop-down menus where you can make certain room requests. While this method can be useful for quickly checking a box to prioritize taking a room that is ready the earliest, or requesting a room near the lobby, for other more complex requests, we recommend using the other methods.
Expert Tips For Room Requests
Now that you know how to make DVC room requests, here are some expert tips to ensure you get the most out of your Disney Vacation Club experience:
- Be Specific: When making your room request, be as detailed as possible. If you want a room near the pool, close to the lobby, on a particular floor, or even a specific room number, make sure to mention it.
- Timing Matters: The earlier you make your room request, the better. Early requests have a higher chance of being fulfilled due to better availability.
- Know Your Resort: Do some research about your chosen resort beforehand. Understanding its layout, room categories, and locations can help you make a more informed room request. You can always view DVC resort maps to get an understanding of the layout of the resort before placing your request.
- Keep It Simple: DVC owners and renters have usually had the best luck getting what they ask for when they keep their requests to one simple, easy to understand, item.
- Stay Flexible: Remember, while Disney cast members do their best to accommodate all room requests, they can’t always be guaranteed due to various factors like occupancy levels and maintenance schedules.
Favorite Room Requests
As we mentioned before, doing some research to know the layout and room positions of your resort can help you craft the perfect request for your situation. Our recommendations for the various room requests will depend on the resort, so let’s take a look at a few of them:
Animal Kingdom Villas
- Request A Higher Floor: If you’ve booked a savanna view room, requesting a higher floor can increase your ability to see farther into the savanna to spot animal.
- Request A Room Close To The Lobby: If you will be using Disney’s bus services, requesting a room closer to the lobby, where the bus stop is, could make a difference if someone in your party has mobility issues.
Aulani
- Request A Room Number Ending In An Even Number: For most villas on the resort, the rooms ending with an even numbers offer views of Aulani’s pool and the sea, while those with odd numbers overlook the convention center, the street, and the island.
- Request A Room Close To The Lobby: The Ewa Building is located next to Aulani’s lobby.
Bay Lake Tower
- Inside Or Outside The “Horseshoe”: If you’re booking a lake view room at Bay Lake Tower, resort building has the rough shape of a horseshoe. If you decide you want to be inside of the “horseshoe” shape you’ll want to request odd-numbered rooms. Outside the “horseshoe” shape will be even-numbered rooms. The outside positions can occasionally provide a fireworks view, whereas the inside offers some of the most stunning views of Bay Lake.
Boardwalk Villas
- Request A Room Overlooking Village Green: You can sometimes achieve a partial Boardwalk view if you ask for rooms overlooking Village Green (with pool/garden views).
- Request A Room Overlooking The Quiet Pool: For the most quiet rooms, request a room on the upper floors that offer views of the Quiet pool.
Grand Californian
- Request A Room With A Theme Park View: The theme park view rooms offered at Grand Californian can offer you expansive views of Disney’s California Adventure Theme Park. There are no distinct view types on the Grand Californian points charts, so it’s up to your request and a bit of luck!
Old Key West
- Request A Room Near Hospitality House: At a resort like Old Key West, most of the on-site amenities are concentrated near the Hospitality House. Many guests here will want to be close to the community hall, Olivia’s Cafe, the boat to Disney Springs or the Sandcastle pool.
Saratoga Springs
At an expansive resort like Saratoga Springs, many of your requests should revolve around your preferred areas due to the significance of location. There truly is no one location that’s perfect for everyone, so just the suggestions below for your personal situation.
- Request A Room Near The Paddock: Many folks love being close by the Paddock Pool, which has a delightful play area for children, and is close by The Paddock Grill as well.
- Request A Room Near Congress Park: Snagging a room in Congress Park puts you closer to Disney Springs when walking, so this is also a popular choice for many guests.
- Request A Room Near The Springs: If you like being in the center of the resort’s grounds, The Springs is a great option since it’s close to the boat launch to Disney Springs, The Artist’s Palette, The Turf Club Bar and Grill, and the lobby as well.
- Request A Room Near The Grandstand: For those taking Disney’s bus transportation to the parks each day, the Grandstand is the first bus stop when heading to the parks and first drop off when coming back from the parks, which makes it ideal for that use case.
Other DVC Resorts
For resorts such as Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Boulder Ridge, Polynesian, Riviera, and Vero Beach, where most booking category views are comparable, we typically request higher floors to enhance the view and ensure more privacy.
