The popularity of delivery services like Instacart and Amazon Fresh has led many guests at Disney resorts to order groceries for their stay. Bell services would receive, store, and later deliver these items to the guests’ rooms. However, a recent policy shift might require guests to adjust their plans.
No Longer Accepting Deliveries Of Alcoholic Beverages
As of August 1, 2023, Disney and Disney Vacation Club resorts’ bell services ceased to accepting alcoholic beverages that come with guest’s grocery deliver orders. Guests who order such items will now have to arrange to meet the delivery driver and personally receive the items. Nonetheless, bell services can still accept most other grocery delivery items.
Please note that all resort package deliveries, including groceries, are subject to a small storage fee, currently set at $6. To avoid this storage fee, guests can choose to meet the delivery driver directly.
Other Recent Delivery Changes
This updated policy comes on the heels of another recent change that meant bell services would no longer transport perishable groceries from one Disney resort to another, such as guests on a split stay.
However, the bell services at the destination resort can store the items if the guest personally delivers them. This means guests planning to stay at multiple resorts could consider using a rental car or ride-sharing service to move their perishable items.
