Disney Honors Military Families With Thunderbirds Flyover

Thunderbirds Flyover EPCOT

As part of Disney’s enduring respect and appreciation for those who serve in the military and their families, a unique event was held at Walt Disney World Resort. To mark the arrival of National Veterans and Military Families Month in November, Disney played host to the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flight demonstration team. The team performed a spectacular flyover of two iconic theme parks – Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

The Thunderbirds, known for their precision and coordination, showcased their capabilities in a first-of-its-kind flyover at the two Walt Disney World theme parks. The event was not just a celebration of the military families, but also a testament to the skill and expertise of the Thunderbirds team.

A Spectacular Display Above Cinderella Castle

Thunderbirds Flyover Magic Kingdom

In a second pass over the Magic Kingdom, the Thunderbirds performed their famous delta maneuver. The jets accelerated rapidly over the Cinderella Castle, each jet flying in a different direction. The result was a breathtaking display that bore a striking resemblance to a fireworks show, lighting up the sky above the park.

The timing of this unique event was particularly significant as it coincided with two major milestones. Disney is celebrating its 100th anniversary, while the Thunderbirds are marking 70 years of inspiring the next generation of patriotism. This special flyover is the latest example of Walt Disney World Resort’s long-standing tradition of celebrating and honoring members of the United States military.

Disney’s tribute to the military community serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by these brave men and women and their families. The Thunderbirds’ flyover is a symbol of the enduring respect and gratitude we owe to our military personnel.
