Best Character Dining Experiences At DVC Resorts

Trattoria al Forno Ariel

When I think of a vacation at Walt Disney World, Mickey and his friends immediately come to mind. After all, one cannot go to Walt Disney World without visiting the classic characters. What is better than taking pictures with them inside theme parks? Dining with them, of course!

A meal with the Disney characters is a right of passage for every Walt Disney World Resort guest. While the experience is not cheap, it will not be something that you regret. The memories that you make during your experience will be with you forever.

Regarding character dining experiences, there are countless restaurants to choose from. Below are a few of my favorites. I dine at one of these locations at least once during every Walt Disney World Resort visit. These character dining experiences are set apart in my mind because they are located in the comfort of the Disney World’s Vacation Club Resorts.

Cape May Cafe

Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast showcases Minnie Mouse and her pals, including Donald, Daisy Duck, and Goofy. You’ll meet them in their beach-inspired looks, and they are SO cute! You’ll get beautiful pictures and signatures from each of them as they enter the restaurant. They also pause to do their beach bash dance, and it’s adorable! The interactions with the characters are fantastic. Even though we were only there for about an hour, the characters came around more than once! Note: Characters only appear during the all-you-can-eat breakfast, and appearances are subject to change.

This experience costs $30.00 for children and $47.00 for adults. It is located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and is an experience that the whole family will love.

PS. Be sure to try the Beach Buns… They are a caramel, vanilla cream treat that will make your entire meal.

Artist Point

Snow White has always been my favorite Disney princess. Luckily, guests can have dinner with her, Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen at Artist Point, a restaurant inside Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Artist Point is tasteful, with enormous windows peeking out at the resort’s wood-like scenery. The experience costs $65.00 for adults and $39.00 for children. The menu is prix-fixe and includes appetizers, entrées, and desserts. Guests will choose one entree, but the appetizers and desserts are preselected.

The best items on the menu are:

  • The wild-mushroom bisque.
  • The slow-braised pork shank (one of the entree options).
  • The chocolate gems.
  • In the end, though, whatever you eat at Artist Pointe will not disappoint. I hope you enjoy it.

Topolino’s Terrace

Topolino’s Terrace is Disney’s newest and most popular character dining experience. And, it is easy to see why… the food is high in quality, unlike anything guests have ever experienced at a character dining experience. The meal begins with various muffins, pastries, and a crowd favorite, the famous POG juice. Then, guests can choose an entree from the menu. My favorite entree is the Sour Cream Waffle. It is a delight with Roasted Apples, Chantilly, Orange-Maple Syrup, and served with a choice of Smoked Bacon, Ham, Sausage, or Plant-based Sausage. If this is not appealing, you can choose from options like a Bread Pudding Brûlée, Smoked Salmon, Steak and Eggs, or Avocado Toast. Every item on the menu is delicious, so you cannot go wrong with anything you decide to indulge in.

While the food is delicious, the best part of the experience is Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends. You will see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. Donald and Mickey are dressed in adorable painter outfits, and Daisy and Minnie look like cute French girls. The restaurant is smaller, so the characters will come to your table multiple times during the meal. I can’t wait to go back!

Ultimately, I hope this article convinces you to book a character dining experience. Trust me, your family will surely enjoy it.
