5 Attractions With Immersive Queues

Tower of Terror

Guests who visit Disney World parks are likely expecting to wait in lines for attractions and shows. While it is true that waiting in lines is part of the experience when visiting a busy theme park like Disney, it doesn’t have to be a boring experience. There are many queue areas throughout the parks that are just as immersive as the attraction itself. Many rides and attractions at Disney parks have made the queue part of the actual experience. Waiting in lines doesn’t have to be boring! If you have an upcoming visit planned to Disney World then check out these 5 attractions with immersive queues.

Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

One of the best theming in any queue areas is at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with the Expedition Everest attraction. This roller coaster is a thrilling journey through Mt. Everest and features close encounters with the mysterious Yeti monster. But this attraction’s theming would be nothing without the incredible setup that the queue provides. As guests make their way through the line they go through shrines dedicated to the yeti. Guests can interact by tossing pennies or ringing bells. As the queue continues, the yeti lore deepens with a “museum” set up featuring artifacts found on mountain expeditions that were carefully created by Disney Imagineers. The setup for this queue is what makes this attraction so thrilling and so immersive.

Peter Pan’s Flight at Magic Kingdom

A queue that is immersive and interactive is Peter Pan’s Flight in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland. This queue as been reimagined through the years, and transports guests into the home of Wendy, John, and Michael. Guests can play with shadows through the halls, find Tinker Bell, see interactive murals, and view the nursery of the Darling children.

Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

This attraction’s queue area is part of the ride itself, with many guests being unclear on when the ride begins and the queue ends. This seamless transition from the line to the attraction is what makes this queue one of the most immersive of all. Guests are led through several transitions and view a few pre-shows before finally making their way on the ride.

Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

A queue that immerses its guests in suspense is Tower of Terror, also located at Hollywood Studios. This attraction brings guests through the exterior gardens of the Hollywood Tower Hotel before bringing them into the abandoned and eerie lobby. The details of a hat and cane left behind, and cobwebs throughout, are what makes this queue immersive and mysterious for guests anticipating the attraction.

Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom

This classic Magic Kingdom attraction has one of my personal favorite immersive queues. Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland has guests enter and cool and dark Pirate’s fort that has ambient noise and music playing. Pirate canons and even Pirate skeletons locked in a dungeon and long forgotten are viewed during this queue. As the ride comes into view, guests find themselves highly anticipating it.
