Why DVC’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Is Great For Resort-Only Vacations



Many guests enjoy traveling to Disney World to experience the Disney parks and waterparks. However, staying DVC allows you to have an incredible vacation without ever needing to purchase a park ticket. Resort-only vacations are popular with guests because of their relaxed nature, and guests enjoy being able to explore their resort and enjoy all it has to offer. DVC resorts like Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge are perfect for those looking to have a resort-only vacation. Animal Kingdom Lodge, both Kidani Village and Jambo House, is home to some incredible recreation and dining. Incredible Pools and Other Activities

Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to two incredible pools. Kidani Village is where guests can find the Samawati Springs pool. This pool features a 128-foot waterslide and Uwanja Camp. Uwanja Camp is a water playground with multiple zones, each zone catering to a different age group so all children can have fun and play together. This play area features water cannons, various squirting water features, and cargo crates to climb through.

Uzima Springs pool is located at Jambo House and features zero-depth entry as well as a 68-foot waterslide. A small wading pool for little swimmers is located nearby, as well as a playground that is perfect for kids to run and climb. Both pools have nearby poolside bars that serve snacks and beverages throughout the day.

Other recreational activities offered at Animal Kingdom Lodge include campfire activities at Jambo House, Movies Under the Stars at Uzima Pool, Pumba’s Fun and Games Arcade, and even painting classes at Jiko for an additional cost and reservation.

Community Hall

Many DVC resorts contain Community Halls for guests to enjoy. Animal Kingdom Lodge- Kidani Village is home to one of these Community Halls. Every day there are crafts and activities offered so be sure to check the schedule upon check in. In addition to planned events, Community Halls also contain board games, DVD rentals, TVS, and other games like Foosball. Community Halls are a great place to stop in during a rainy day, or a relaxing rest day at the resort.

Animal Viewing

Perhaps the thing that makes Animal Kingdom Lodge so unique is its animal viewing opportunities. Animal Kingdom Lodge, much like Animal Kingdom park, is home to several species of wild animals including zebras, giraffes, antelope, flamingos, and more. Throughout the lodge you can find animal viewing platforms, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening drink. There are several opportunities throughout the lodge to view animals and learn more about them through expert Cast Members nearby.

Fantastic Dining

Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to some great dining. Quick-service restaurants include The Mara which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is located near Uzima Springs Pool. Sanaa, is also open for quick-service during breakfast hours. Table-service restaurants include Sanaa, which offers great animal views, Boma, and Jiko- The Cooking Place. There is something for everyone to enjoy, and enough dining options to enhance your entire stay.
