Disney’s monorail system is not only a convenient method of transportation to and from select Disney resorts and parks, but also a fun way to spend some extra time on your vacation. Many guests enjoy riding the monorail to different resorts in order to explore them and take advantage of their various dining experiences. The resorts located on the monorail are DVC and deluxe resorts. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Resort all reside on the monorail line, and guests of these resorts enjoy quick and easy access to both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.

California Grill
One of Disney’s signature dining experiences is located on the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. California Grill is an upscale dining experience that boasts stunning views of Bay Lake and Magic Kingdom park. This 3-course dining experience is currently priced at $89 per adult and $39 per child, and includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Guests can enjoy sushi like the Wagyu Surf & Turf Roll, entrees like Corn and Mushroom Mezzaluna, and desserts like the White Chocolate Cherry Crème Brûlée. California Grill is a great place to view Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks spectacular as well.
Steakhouse 71
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is home to another restaurant, Steakhouse 71. This casual sit-down dining location is modeled after the year of Disney World’s opening. Steakhouse 71 pays homage to Walt’s favorites and is famous for its French Onion Soup. Something unique about Steakhouse 71 is that it is also open for breakfast with entrees like Steak and Eggs and Floridian Eggs Benedict.
Chef Mickey’s
The final sit-down restaurant within Disney’s Contemporary Resort is Chef Mickey’s. Open for breakfast and dinner, Chef Mickey’s is a lively character buffet featuring “the fab five”. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy all meet and greet during your meal. The breakfast buffet at Chef Mickey’s is plentiful and contains favorites like Mickey waffles, French Toast, pancakes, and various breakfast meats and other accompaniments. The dinner buffet features items like carved New York Strip Loin, Shrimp Scampi, and baked Mac n’ Cheese.
Kona Cafe
Disney’s Polynesian Resort is home to Kona Cafe. This iconic restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and serves foods with an Asian-flair. For breakfast, guests can enjoy the famous Tonga Toast- a banana-stuffed French Toast that is deep-fried and tossed in cinnamon sugar. For lunch and dinner guests can choose from a large sushi menu, poke bowls, and various dishes inspired by Asian cuisine.
Ohana
Another popular restaurant within Disney’s Polynesian Resort is Ohana. This restaurant offers two distinct dining experiences for breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, guests are joined by Lilo and Stitch and other friends as they enjoy a Hawaiian-inspired breakfast meal. For dinner, guests are treated to an all-you-care-to-enjoy feast of various meats and other enjoyable sides. Guests love the Ohana noodles, as well as the ‘Ohana Bread Pudding for dessert.
Citricos
One of Grand Floridian’s Signature Dining Experiences is Citricos. This restaurant with an award-winning wine list pays homage to Mary Poppins, and offers a sophisticated dining experience. Guests can enjoy specialty dishes like Guava-barbecued Short Ribs and Truffle Macaroni & Cheese while they dine in an elegant setting.
Narcoossee’s
Open for dinner only, Narcoossee’s is another Disney Signature Dining Experience. This restaurant offers lakeside views with glimpses of Magic Kingdom in the distance, and a sophisticated menu consisting of Lobster Bisque, Red Wine Glazed Salmon, Plancha-Seared Scallops & Parisian Gnocchi, and more.
Grand Floridian Cafe
Looking for casual dining at the Grand Floridian Resort? Grand Floridian Cafe is the perfect sit-down dining destination for those who are looking for a more laid-back experience. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Grand Floridian Cafe serves American favorites like Steak and Eggs and Chicken and Waffles for breakfast. For lunch and dinner guests can enjoy entrees like Miso Glazed Salmon and Pomodoro Pasta with Shrimp.
1900 Park Fare
Calling all wish makers! 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is a character buffet that cannot be skipped. Wish makers like Mirabelle, Tiana, Aladdin, and Cinderella are all waiting for you at 1900 Park Fare. Open for breakfast, brunch, and dinner, 1900 Park Fare serves food inspired by its characters like Tiana’s Gumbo, as well as the famous Grand Floridian Strawberry Soup.
