1. Check out the construction progress.
Let’s start with the obvious, visiting the construction for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom is the perfect way to start building your excitement levels. Splash Mountain has only been closed a year and the exterior is almost unrecognizable. The green hills of the Louisiana Bayou are looking more beautiful by the day. Covered in foliage, even behind construction walls this is quite the sight to see. It’s a view all brought together by the centerpiece of the attraction, the Tiana’s Foods water tower. Princess Tiana’s tiara sits atop the tower with homages to firefly Ray and his love, Evangeline in the stars.
2. Shop new merchandise.
Speaking of Tiana’s tiara, the ride’s first pieces of merchandise have arrived. Starting at Frontier Trading Post in Frontierland, a new pin of Tiana’s tiara is available for sale. Accompanied by a piece of concept art for the attraction, this is a gorgeous piece of art that you can see every day you wake up and wish it was opening day already! Also at Magic Kingdom is a new Walt Disney World refillable popcorn bucket. Each park is represented by its icon and an associated character. To see Tiana on the bucket next to the castle, and her water tower, is a dream come true! It’ll definitely be useful when waiting in those long opening day crowds this new ride is sure to bring in.
3. Visit Port Orleans.
One of my favorite Walt Disney World resort’s is Port Orleans French Quarter. This resort is like stepping into New Orleans. The music, the architecture, and most importantly, the beignets. Port Orleans has some spectacular beignets for sale. While I’m sure they don’t even compare to Tiana’s famous Man Catching Beignets, these are what’s available now. These delicious treats at Port Orleans are huge and covered with powdered sugar. Go there and buy some beignets, sit outside under the shade and soak in the jazz music the resort plays! It’s one of my favorite resorts, especially with how reminiscent it is to my favorite Disney movie.
As the months go on, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland as well, will start to see more additions for us to enjoy relating to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! I can not wait to see all of the merchandise, food, and of course, the ride itself! The wait is almost agonizing, but with these little activities hopefully it can help you pass the time until the big day! I can only hope that we get an opening date announcement soon, there’s only so many beignets I can eat!
It is sad to see Splash Mountain get rebranded but l will keep an open mind and see something new come in. I am sure l will not be disappointe
I love getting to hear all the excitement surrounding Tiana and her new ride! Love the recommendations, definitely need to check out Port Orleans!
