Which Disney Park Should You End Your Trip With?

Deciding which Disney parks to visit during your vacation can feel like a big decision, but it doesn’t have to be a difficult one! There are several ways to determine which park schedule will work best for you and your family. While park reservations are no longer required for a multi-day ticket, it is still a good idea to have a personal itinerary of which parks you will be visiting on each day of your vacation. The end of your trip is just as important as the beginning and deciding which park to visit on your last day can feel like a daunting task! Need help determining which park to visit on your last day? Here are a few ways to decide which Disney park you should end your trip with.

Save The Best For Last

Perhaps the easiest way to decide which park to visit on your last day is by saving your favorite park for last. When I visited Disney World as a child my family had a tradition to begin and end our trip with our favorite park: Magic Kingdom. Whatever park you determine to be your favorite, saving it for your last day can be a great farewell to your vacation. This is an especially great idea if you plan on scheduling more than one day per park during your trip. Revisiting your favorite park on the last day of your vacation is perfect for catching any attraction you might have missed during your first visit, and it also alleviates the pressure to do everything on your first day when you know you will be returning again.

End Small

Another strategy in deciding which park to end your trip with is choosing one of Disney’s smaller parks likeHollywood Studios or even Magic Kingdom. By the end of your vacation you might be exhausted, and a full day at a large park like Animal Kingdom or EPCOT might feel like too much. Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom are both smaller parks with attractions that are in close-proximity to each other which makes for less walking overall. You could even choose a Disney waterpark for your last day, as these parks require more floating than walking!

Choose A Park With Nighttime Entertainment

If you plan on staying until the park closes on your last day then choosing a park with nighttime entertainment can punctuate your vacation in a magical way. Magic Kingdom has a nightly fireworks spectacular, Happily Ever After, that will leave you and your family feeling inspired and full of magic on your last day. EPCOT has a new nighttime show: Luminous The Symphony of Us, which takes place on World Showcase Lagoon and features fireworks, fountains, lights, and other effects. Hollywood Studios does not currently run a fireworks show, however there is a projection show that runs on the surface of the Chinese Theatre which celebrates classic movies and the world of animation. Animal Kingdom is currently the only park that does not offer any form of nighttime entertainment, and this park generally closes a bit earlier than the others as well!

Choose Your Final Meal First

When deciding which park to visit on your last day you could also consider which restaurant you would like to end your trip with. Grabbing advance dining reservations can be tricky sometimes, and as a Disney resort guest you have an advantage in reserving dining 60 days prior to your check-in date. This makes it to where you can schedule your last dining reservation earlier than guests who aren’t staying on property. This is a great way to make those hard-to-get reservations on the last day of your visit. If you can’t get into Akershus Royal Banquet Hall until the last day of your vacation then consider EPCOT to be your final park! Let your final meal be the deciding factor in which park to end your trip with.
