Disney has announced that indoor character meet and greets will be returning in November to two Walt Disney World Parks! As many guests are aware, Disney’s character meet and greets have been changed to maintain social distancing and have been done outdoors. The only exception to this is character dining experiences, however that is an extra cost and may not be doable for every guest, but that is about to change!
The transition to indoor meet and greet will be starting in November, but Disney has not released the exact date at this time, but we are likely to hear from them regarding the official date within the next couple of weeks.
When this change is enacted, guests will have the opportunity to meet some of their favorite characters in their previous indoor locations. This will apply to both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The transition will include the following:
- Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater – Magic Kingdom
- Minnie Mouse at Red Carpet Dreams – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall – Magic Kingdom
- Disney Junior Stars in Animation Courtyard – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Although some character meet and greets will be returning, they will not be exactly as they were previously. Disney states in their announcement that hugs and autographs will still not be allowed at this time, but this is a step in that direction. In addition to more one on one time with your favorite characters, guests will still be able to spot characters in the cavalcades, motorcades, and flotillas throughout the parks.
