Magic Key Sales opened up recently at The Disneyland Resort which means there will be New Magic Key holders in the parks! If you are new to The Magic Key Program here are 5 tips you need to know to get the most out of your Magic Key!
1. Park Hopping
Park hopping begins at 11:00 AM. If you arrive before 11:00 AM you will have to scan in at the park you chose when making the reservation. If you arrive after 11:00 AM you can scan into either park. You can Park Hop as many times as you’d like until the parks close.
2. Discounts
Food and Merchandise Discounts
Magic Key discounts can be used at most quick service and table service restaurants, discounts are typically not applied at snack carts throughout the park. Discounts can also be used during Mobile food orders and Mobile merchandise checkout. Your pass should be linked to your Disneyland APP and discount will be automatically applied during the check out process. At table Service restaurants be sure to let them know you have a Magic Key so it can be applied to your bill.
Parking Discounts
Each Magic Key receives a different parking discount. The Inspire Key receives free parking at all Disneyland Resort Parking lots. This includes The Mickey and Friends and Pixar Pals parking structure as well as, The Toy Story parking area. The Believe Key receives 50% off at all parking areas. The Enchant and Imagine Key recieves 25% off parking at The Toy Story parking lot only.
3. Magic Key Exclusives and Perks
Disney offers Magic Key Holders different perks through out the year. Perks usually include freebies, Magic shot photos by PhotoPass, limited time popcorn buckets, discounts, and pre-sales on After-hour events such as Oogie Boogie Bash.
4. Reservation System and Penalties
When using your new Magic Key Pass you will have to make a reservation using the Disneyland website or APP before you can enter either Disneyland or California Adventure park. Each Key has a different amount of reservations that can be made at a time. Once you are scanned into the park, a new reservation can be made immediately. It’s also important to keep note of the block out dates associated with your Magic Key. Each Magic Key Pass has a different block out calendar. When making a reservation you will choose a starting park, if it is before 11:00 AM you will have to enter the park you selected. Reservations must be canceled of modified before 11:59 PM the night before the reserved date. Once the clock hits midnight, you can no longer cancel or modify, if you do not scan in before 11:59 PM the day of your reservation your pass will get a penalty strike. You will be notified by the email associated with your Magic Key. If you miss 3 park reservations within a 90 day period you will be unable to make new reservations for 30 days. Existing reservations remain the same.
5. Magic Key Terrace
Magic Key Terrace, located in Disney California Adventure Park is an exclusive lounge and bar. Reservations can be made through the Disneyland App. Walk-up dining is also available but can be limited. Only the person making the reservation needs to be a Key holder.
