5 Things To Do at EPCOT at Night

EPCOT is a park that is equally as stunning and incredible at night as it is during the day. Many guests enjoy staying at the Disney parks into the evening in order to have as much time there as possible. There are several benefits in remaining in the parks after dark including cooler weather, slightly calmer crowds, and the ability to see the parks’ nighttime decor. EPCOT is a park that deserves to be explored during all hours of the day. If you have an upcoming visit to Disney World then check out these 5 things to do at EPCOT at night.

1. Enjoy Light Shows on Spaceship Earth

EPCOT’s glorious park icon, Spaceship Earth, is covered in LED lights that light up the sky during the nighttime hours. The lights are beautiful even when stagnant, but occasionally a light show will play. These shows are unscheduled and operate throughout the night. Guests can hang out near the park entrance and wait for these shows to begin. Because the shows are unscheduled, you never know what you might see. An Encanto show is currently playing for the Flower & Garden festival, but other shows like Rainbow Connection and When You Wish Upon a Star have been known to play as well!

2. Take Photopass Photos

Nighttime is a great time to capture memories with Photopass! After dark, a few Photopass Photographers will stick around for capturing photos at EPCOT’s iconic locations. These pictures are unique because of EPCOT’s great lighting, and many of the lines for these photos won’t be as long as they are during the day. Some great areas at night for capturing photos are the Japan pavilion, EPCOT’s entrance fountain, near Spaceship Earth, and the Walt the Dreamer statue.

3. Watch Luminous: Symphony of Us

Did you know that EPCOT has a new nighttime spectacular? Luminous: Symphony of Us is a fireworks show that takes place on the World Showcase Lagoon and explores the human connection and what brings us together. This show plays nightly at 9pm, and features some of your favorite Disney soundtracks as well as original music. Guests can expect to see fireworks, water effects, and lighting effects. The show lasts for approximately 20 minutes and is a great way to end the night at EPCOT. It can be viewed all throughout World Showcase.

4. Explore World Showcase

Some guests might consider nighttime the perfect time to explore World Showcase. Walking through World Showcase without the heat of the Florida sun can make for a much more comfortable experience. You might feel less rushed and able to really take your time and take in the little details. The crowds tend to pick up as you get closer to the start of the fireworks show, but most of the crowd will remain still while you walk. Once you find a good place to stop and rest you can enjoy Luminous: The Symphony of Us and then continue walking through the showcase as you make your way to the exit.

5. Enjoy Last Minute Shopping

When you think of EPCOT at night, you might not be thinking of shopping! But after dark is the best time to explore some of EPCOT’s stores. Many popular shops aren’t as busy at night and so it’s easier to browse and shop around. It’s also nice to be able to buy things at the end of the day so you don’t have to carry them with you throughout the park! EPCOT’s Creations Shop is also open an after after the park closes at night, so guests can shop around while they wait for the crowd to dissipate.
