It’s a New Year at The Disneyland Resort! A New year means a lot of changes, updates and even ride closures a long with refurbishments. Here are 5 updates you need to know before you visit Disneyland in 2024.
Returning To The Disneyland Resort
World of Color One, a night time spectacular returns to Disney California Adventure Park January 19th. “Hurry Home” a Lunar New Year Celebration will be shown before World of Color One. The prelude will run Jan 23- Feb 18, 2024. “it’s a small world” will re-open after being closed to remove the Christmas overlay on January 19, 2024.
Lunar New Year Celebration
The Lunar New Year Celebration will be returning to Disney’s California Adventure Park. The Lunar New Year Celebration Begins January 23 and will run until February 18, 2024. Celebrate the new year with Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, Special Appearances by Disney Characters, festive merchandise and decor, Asian Cuisine, and Kid-friendly crafts.
Closures and refurbishments
January is considered “Off Season” for Disneyland. Off season is before Spring Break and after The Holidays. During the off season you may notice more attraction closures. During this time refurbishments are done to attractions and even restaurants. Here is a list of closures to take note while visiting The Disneyland Resort:
- “it’s a small world”: January 8 – 18, 2024
- Grizzly River Run: January 8 – February 29, 2024
- World Of Color: January 8 – January 19, 2024
- Blue Bayou Restaurant: January 8 – 19, 2024
- Haunted Mansion: January 22 – To Be Announced
- Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind: January 22 – To Be Announced
- Astro Orbitor: Currently closed until Winter 2024
Disneyland Early Closure
Disneyland will close at 8:00 PM select nights in January and February for Sweethearts’ Nite. Sweethearts’ Nite is a Disneyland After Dark special ticketed event. The even is Currently sold out. Dates of the event are January 23, 25, 30 and February 1, 6, 8, 12 and 14 2024. So it is important to remember on these dates Disneyland will close at 8:00 PM and California Adventure Park will close at 9:00 PM.
Child Ticket Offer
There is a limited time Child Ticket Offer for just $50 a day. It’s a 1 day, 1 park ticket for children ages 3-9. Tickets can be used Jan 8 – March 10, 2024. Be sure to take advantage of this deal as they don’t happen very often!
