Where to Find Intricate Artwork During Your Disney Vacation



Guests who are fans of the arts will absolutely love their time spent at Disney World. Disney World is a creative place that is full of art in every form. The attractions, architecture, resorts, and even the queue areas and restaurants are all full of artistic inspiration and works of art. If you are someone who appreciates art then you will find no shortage of it throughout Disney World. If you’d like to go on an art hunt during your next visit to Disney World then check out where to find intricate artwork throughout the parks and resorts.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Did you know that Disney’s Contemporary Resort is home to one of the most intricate murals you can find? Designed by Mary Blair, this mural stretches 90 feet high and is located in Grand Canyon Concourse, near the monorail station. Full of colorful ceramic tiles, this mural depicts the Grand Canyon and takes other inspiration from the west. The mural wraps around a large central pillar, and guests could easily spend an hour just going over all of the details.

Disney’s Riviera Resort

If you enjoy hunting for murals and artwork then you’ll love exploring Disney’s Riviera Resort. This deluxe resort is just a Skyliner ride away, and is covered in original works of art inspired by Disney films. This resort is also home to a shop called La Boutique where guests can explore the Art on Demand Kiosk and purchase works of art to take home. Guests can find stunning murals throughout the resort, each featuring scenes from Disney films. One of the most notable murals is the Tangled “floating lantern” mural in the Skyliner station tunnel.

Through Cinderella Castle

Many guests don’t realize that you can walk through Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom, and that this passageway contains an incredibly intricate mosaic mural. There are several murals lining the walls during this passageway and each works together to tell the classic Cinderella fairytale story. This murals are stunning and have lived at the Magic Kingdom since its opening.

Spaceship Earth

Another stunning work of art can be found right outside of the Spaceship Earth queue. This mural was done by Claudio Mazzoli and depicts the same history of man that this attraction is about. This mural really tells the story of the attraction and gives guests a glimpse into what they are about to experience.

Japan Pavilion

If you’re looking for art in a different form then checking out the Japan pavilion is a great way to view some beautiful sights. Not only is there an intricate Japanese garden nearby where guests can stroll, relax, and view beautiful plants, but there is also a gallery called Bijutsu-Kan that showcases elements of Japan’s “kawaii” culture.
