Congratulations! You have just booked a magical family vacation with Disney Cruise Line. You know the essential items to pack in your suitcase, but what else should you pack? If you are asking yourself this question, read on for some of my most loved suggestions.
Disclaimer: This list is items that make the cruise extra fun. This is different from your typical cruise vacation packing list.
Suggestion Number One: Mickey Ears
On a Disney vacation, one thing is for sure: you can never have enough Mickey Ears. If you need a new pair, visit the Disney Store website. You will find standard ears, groom-themed ear hats, sequined ears, and more there. The Disney Store website will have all the ears you could ever want. Happy shopping!
Bonus Tip: Some of my family members like to make their own ears before our family vacations. If this is something that would be of interest to you, you can always make your ears, too. You can find more affordable, standard ears on Amazon.com if you do not want to make your ears.
My kids love wearing their ears as we dine in the different restaurants, attend the Broadway-style shows, or watch the awe-inspiring fireworks at sea. No matter when or where you wear your ears have a pair or two stashed in your suitcase. Trust me. You will be so glad that you brought them.
Suggestion Number Two: Themed Door Magnets
Before every Disney Cruise adventure, my family and I shop for Disney-themed magnets to place on our cabin door. We try to incorporate a theme. One year, we found Mickey-themed food items like ice cream bars and popcorn boxes. The next year, we found Mickey-themed Easter egg magnets. This year, we are looking for Mickey-themed Halloween magnets because our cruise is around Halloween. Once we board the ship, one of the very first things the kids do is race to our cabin to decorate the door. It is so much fun!
What theme will you choose for your cruise? The options are endless!
Suggestion Number Three: Disposable Cameras
One of the many reasons that my family and I love Disney Cruise Line is the ability to meet Mickey Mouse at sea. How often do you get to cruise with Mickey and his pals? One thing is sure: my children love getting as many pictures with Mickey as possible.
While there are professional photographers onboard to capture stunning, high-quality photos, my children love to take pictures of their family members while the photographers are taking pictures. So, we go to our local Five Below, Super Target, or Walmart to pick up a handful of disposable cameras. After our trip, the kids loved getting the film developed to see all of their captured memories. If your children enjoy taking pictures as much as mine do, disposable cameras are a must!
I hope reading this article excites you about your Disney Cruise Line vacation. Best wishes for a wonderful trip full of magical, lifelong memories.
