We recently reported that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park would be returning to action on March 19th, but Disney has announced it will be delaying the reopening by one day to March 20th, 2023 due to inclement weather.
Currently, the forecast for Sunday March 19th, 2023 shows a high of 60 degrees, and it is common practice for Central Florida water parks to shut down operations for days with 70 degree weather or lower. Curiously, the forecast for March 20th also shows a current high of 67 degrees, so we may actually see further delays in seeing Typhoon Lagoon return.
This news comes after Disney announcing their other Walt Disney World water park, Blizzard Beach, would be closing for refurbishment on March 19th. It was originally expected to be a clean water park switch-a-roo, with guests having access to one of the two water parks, but it looks that there will be some intermittent closures.
As always, we’ll keep an eye on the story as it develops, we’ll keep you up to date on when Typhoon Lagoon will be reopening on the DVC Shop blog.
