Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, is known for its unique Treehouse Villas, which are currently part of a significant deck replacement project. These elevated treehouse villas, nestled amidst beautiful greenery, offer Disney Vacation Club members a novel vacation experience that is about to get even better.
A Comprehensive Deck Overhaul
The decks of the Treehouse Villas are a vital element of their appeal, offering a tranquil space where guests can relax while taking in the picturesque woodland views. However, as time has passed, these decks have faced the natural wear and tear of the elements and now require refurbishment. To address this, DVC has launched an extensive deck replacement initiative.
We recently reported on permits being taken out for general construction on the treehouse villas that signaled refurbishments would be happening earlier than expected, and now we are seeing the deck replacement project acting as the first step, prior to the full refurbishments of the interior that is expected to happen over the course of this year and possibly throughout early 2025.
At this time, the deck of each villa is being entirely replaced, ensuring that the new decks will not only provide increased safety but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of the villas. During this time, the affected villas will not be available for reservation, but it appears that Disney will only be working on one villa at a time.
Minimizing Disruptions for Guests
While the renovation inevitably brings some temporary inconveniences, DVC is dedicated to reducing disruptions for its guests. The work schedule is organized so that only a few villas are closed at any given time, ensuring that most of the resort remains accessible for guests to enjoy. It is possible that some construction noise could be audible during daytime hours for guests staying in the treehouse villas in the coming months.
The Road Ahead
This deck replacement venture is just the first step in preserving and enhancing these villas for DVC members. At last year’s DVC Condo Association meeting, it was revealed that many popular DVC resorts were on the schedule for various refurbishment projects. Saratoga Springs’ Treehouse Villas were placed on the schedule to be completely by 2025, and we have seen quite a bit of progress toward meeting that schedule.
