Magic Kingdom and other Disney parks are typically open all day and into the night, and many guests prefer to spend as much of their day at possible within the parks. There are several perks to staying at the parks after nightfall. The heat of the day is gone, and the crowds are beginning to thin out. There are attractions and things to do up until the very minute of the park’s closing, and sometimes those minutes prior to the park closing can be great opportunities for magic and fun. If you find yourself at the parks after dark then check out some of these things to do just before closing at Magic Kingdom.
Grab Photos At Popular Spots
Just prior to the park closing, most guests are trying to catch Happily Ever After or make their way to other attractions or the exit. Because of this, popular photo spots throughout the park are typically empty or have a short line for Photo Pass photographers. Grabbing a few photos of your family at popular photo spots is a great way to spend your last few minutes at Magic Kingdom. Some popular photo spots to hit on your way out of the park is the Sword in the Stone near Prince Charming Regal Carousel, Rapunzel’s Tower, Cinderella Wishing Well, and the bridge in front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

One Last Ride
Did you know that the queue for attractions remains open until the minute that the park closes? The minutes prior the the park closing is a great time to hop in line for your favorite attraction, or any attraction that you might have missed during the day. Many guests aren’t hopping in lines just prior to the parks closing, so these wait times can be shorter than they are during the day. As long as you are in line before the park closes, you can remain in line until you board the attraction even after closing.

People Watch On Main Street U.S.A.
One of my favorite things to do when the park is closing is find a quiet place on Main Street U.S.A. to people watch. Many guests leave the park immediately after Happily Ever After concludes, but guests can linger behind and remain on Main Street for an hour after the park closes. My family prefers to let the crowd pass before we exit the park, so we enjoy people watching and watching the crowd thin out.

Shop At The Emporium
The Emporium shop on Main Street is open for an additional hour after the park closes. Getting some last minute shopping in at The Emporium is a great way to make use of your time during the park’s closing. By waiting until the end of the day to shop you don’t have to worry about carrying around your goods, and can instead just take your items directly back to the your resort with you.
