Skyway Bridge at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower Closing Briefly Next Week

If you are planning on staying in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, be prepared to take a detour next week. The bridge between Bay Lake Tower and Disney’s Contemporary Resort is closing for refurbishment on Monday, July 18th, but it will quickly reopen on Wednesday, July 20th.

The Skyway Bridge lets guests staying at Bay Lake Tower, a Disney Vacation Club resort, stroll from the 5th floor to the Grand Canyon Concourse of the main Contemporary Resort building. The Concourse is the main building’s 4th floor, where you can find dining, gift shops, and take a short escalator or elevator ride to the monorail station.

DVC owners, and DVC rental guests, who are staying in Bay Lake Tower will have to head down to the first floor and walk outside if they are traveling between the main building of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower.

Ultimately, this should only inconvenience guests for a few days, but it’s always good to be prepared if you have a trip planned for Bay Lake Tower next week.

Bay Lake Tower is a Disney Vacation Club Resort and is one of the closest resorts to the Magic Kingdom theme park. It’s a favorite for many Disney fans because of its convenient location and beautiful views. Bay Lake Tower is also home to some great restaurants like Steakhouse 71, California Grill, and Contempo Cafe.
