Disney has officially rebranded the retail website ShopDisney back to its former name, the Disney Store after 7 years.
As of February 14, 2024, ShopDisney has been rebranded back to the original name of the Disney Store. Back in 2017 Disney announced that their online retail store would have a name change and be known as ShopDisney. A way to differ to online store from the brick-and-mortar stores located across North America.
The Disney Store was a very popular speciality store back in the 90s and 2000s selling only Disney related merchandise and souvenirs. Disney stores could be found in your local mall or shopping center. In March of 2021 Disney announced that it would be closing at least 155 store locations in The U.S. and Canada. There are currently only 21 Disney Store locations left in the country. There are Disney Store areas located within Target stores in various locations across the U.S.
Along with the name change of the online retail store you can expect to find a new logo as well as imagery and overall a new look for the shopping website. More updates are expected to roll out on social media platforms. Disney has said as these changes take place, there may be times where access to the website will be temporarily unavailable. Packaging for purchases and deliveries is also expected to be updated over time. While Visiting the Disney Store website you will find unique and authentic park merchandise, items from brands such as Disney, Pixar, MARVEL, Star Wars and more and exclusive collections available at the Disneystore.com
Unfortunately at this time there is still no signs that Disney will be bringing back the nostalgic brick-and-mortar stores that we all know and loved.
We will be sure to update if there is any new changes to the Disney Store Website and keep you informed on the latest and greatest Disney news. What do you think of ShopDisney rebranding back to the former the Disney Store? Which name do you prefer? Let us know in the comments below.
