Getting to the Disney Parks early enough for rope drop has always been a must do for park goers. It has taken almost a year, but the rope drop experience has finally returned to Epcot, and guests are loving it.
When Walt Disney World reopened in July 2020, guests were having to wait outside of the parks until opening due to social distancing guidelines. However, now that Walt Disney World is beginning to diminish the social distancing requirements, rope drop is allowed again.
Guests are now able to enter the park at 10:00 AM and are allowed to line up on either side of Spaceship Earth. At 10:20 AM guests are allowed to move up even more to the construction site in the center to accommodate more guests that come early. Guests wait in these areas until the park officially opens and the “rope drops”. Epcot currently opens at 11:00 AM.
There are no social distancing markers in the parks for rope drop and physical distancing guidelines have been relaxed in the rope drop lines. This is Disney’s latest attempt to get back to its previous practices, and there are bound to be more to come.
