The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is now closed for a lengthy refurbishment. The ride, which first opened in 1999, will remain closed until further notice while crew members work to bring the attraction back up to Disney’s high standards. Also, Rock Around the shop is also currently closed.

The attraction is expected to return this upcoming summer. Disney has not released any details about the refurbishment of its beloved Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, but it is expected to only involve general maintenance and upkeep. However, the lawsuit filed with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler may very well alter this situation. If Aerosmith were to be completely eradicated from the ride, it could likely cause a considerable extension in refurbishment for the attraction.

The hair-raising coaster is based on Aerosmith’s classic hits and guests have been able to experience the rock band’s music as they speed through tunnels and loop-the-loops on this intense ride. Featuring accelerations of up to 60 mph and three inversions, it’s easy to see why Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has been a fan favorite since its debut.

Guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios over the next few months can expect construction walls around the attraction area, with no access allowed for safety reasons. However, there are still plenty of other attractions, shows and experiences available at the park so guests won’t be left out of all the fun!

Disney promises that once refurbishment is finished, guests will be able to enjoy an even smoother version of this wild roller coaster – making Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster an even more thrilling experience than ever before!
